Seriously, i don't blame him, this is the worst one in the series. Raiden? Come on. He almost makes Hayden Christensen look bad ass.

Psycom5k 02-04-2008 11:51 AM

Currently replaying Doom, Quake, and Duke Nukem 3d. I've been feeling nastalgic.

But you at least have to finish it. I beat it in 4 hours total.

Yeah, its pretty damn short if you don't watch the long-ass confusing cutscenes. And maybe it adds a lot to the MGS storyline, but we are never gonna find out anytime soon unless Konami finally fuckin releases "Guns of the Patriots".

Phalanx 02-05-2008 03:27 AM

Decided to give xmen - legends a go...Ive played it before but never really got into it...I got both of 'em so I may as well try.

Despare 02-10-2008 07:18 PM

Twisted Metal: Head On for the PS2. The wife and I have been playing it alot lately. I don't understand how she hates horror movies, doesn't like most video games, and yet adores Twisted Metal 2 (which Head On is very close to) and won't drive any vehicle other than Shadow.

I rented The Club tonight and while it's not that great and the graphics aren't anything new it still is pretty fun to play.If you like fast paced shoot um up games then this is one you should check out.

Has it got any sort of story mode, or is it like a Counter Strike bot game?

Freak 02-24-2008 09:40 PM

It's got some what of a story mode. You choose a level and in that level there five or six stages and each stage has different goals. One you have to run through and make it to the exit while scoring as many points as you can by shooting your enimes.Another has you stand in a small area and try to survive an onslaught until the time runs out.

The big thing about it is that you can't take your time running around and searching.Casue getting kills in rapid sucession help keep your combo up and helps you get a bigger score and thats the main objective of the game, to get the highest score possible.

I haven't checked out the multi-player yet but soon as i do i'll let you know how it is.

Phalanx 02-25-2008 03:00 PM

Still playing the first X-MEN LEGENDS game...it kind've pisses me off here'n there so I only usually tackle one stage at a time - I'm learning how to better apply the x's different powers in both 1p and "bot" modes.
Beast seems pretty useless in all honesty...
Good game though, a lot of respect paid to the subject matter.
Cool music too.
I've had both 1 & 2 for ages now so I guess I might follow over to the second after this...unless Sony gives me some more new games...

Good game. I haven't played the third one yet though. I do have:

Koudelka (Different name, but comes before Shadow Hearts)
Shadow Hearts
Shadow Hearts: Covenant

This is a great series. I wish they had stuck a little closer to the horror them though.

CrimsonFiend138 02-28-2008 07:49 PM

Yeah my friend lent it to me and by the name I thought it would just be some medicore title but I was very suprised. I have only played this one, I love fantasy realms but I liked how they set it in real locations and after always seeing Gepetto only in Disney I thought they made him look pretty cool. I actually like the ring idea too. I didn't know it had a horror theme in the earlier one nor did I know there is a third one.

I'm now on the last level of the first disc (i think) The living fortress and thats actually kinda creepy. When I was in the underground tunnels in Russia it was very creepy, the only thing that stopped me from geting creeped out was the fact that it was random battles it had a very eerie survival horror look to it.

The original Shadow Hearts and Koudelka were a lot more into the horror genre. Covenant steered away from it for the most part.

Freak 02-29-2008 09:25 AM

Rented Jumper yesterday.it's a horrible game but it's any easy 1000 points.

monster 02-29-2008 09:27 AM

God I hated that puzzle.

Is this your first time playing, you'll be meeting one of Silent Hill's most beloved residents :)

monster 03-01-2008 05:07 AM

Yes this is the first time and that because I were not able to find it in my home and by chance I found it last week.

Halo 3

I love the campaign but the multiplayer is lacking it seems. I suppose I'm spoiled by too much CoD4 and Vegas.

Freak 03-02-2008 02:36 PM

Picked up Call of Duty 2 today for 10 bucks.I only got to play it at a freinds house once so I figured why not.

The single player and co-op are fun but I usually play CoD4 online which is faster, more intense, more rewarding... you name it and CoD trumps Halo on it in multiplayer. I also HATE most of the Halo "community", CoD has some jackasses but I can hardly listen to the idiots that play Halo chatter on and on and on... and to think my wife wonders why I yell at people on there so much.

The Gears of War voicechat is pretty bad too, normally its loaded with white kids who think they are black. Its all nigga' this and nigga that. then the good ol' if we met in real life i'd woop your ass insult. Does anybody else find that one funny?

Oh yeah, and I just started Bioshock too.

You know half of those kids probably wish they were black. Anyway, Halo 3 (and I pretty much any online game now, it's just that some are worse than others) is filled with unintelligent people who make nothing but poorly thought out insults every three seconds. "Do you smell that? I think we're playing niggers!" "Man, that dude's a faggot noob, he sucks." "America sucks, everybody hates you." "England sucks, you guys would have lost WWII if it wasn't for us!" "Canada sucks, faggoty ass nigger bitches." Seriously, it's pathetic, makes it hard to even play with the headset on but sometimes you get a good team and there's intelligent, helpful communication.

I'm playing Bishock right now. I must say, this is one of the most atmospheric, artsy and all around moody games I have ever played. I will be buying this one sometime in the near future.

Yeah, its easier to get a good team that isn't spouting insults constantly if you're in a ranked match. They all get serious during those, if not for the fact that im not too good and I'd rather play a game where I stand a chance then I would play ranked matches constantly. Oh yeah, just a tip on that, just incase you aren't sure who got a down in a ranked match, and you think its you, make sure that you check the scoreboard, because otherwise they bug out on you and pblame you for kill stealing, and they are way too serious about that. One kid got so worked up I swear he was crying. Oh, and am I the only one who is sick of hearing "BOOM HEADSHOT!"?

Excellent game. lifts storytelling in a video game to a whole new level. Great endings too

I am currently revisiting Half-Life 2. Valve's games hold up so well over time. even the orginal half-life is playable still.

How many endings does it have?

This kind of sucks, especially for VC who loves co-op games, but here's a quote from penny-arcade.

"Just got back from the store with two copies of Army of Two, my mind already blossoming with mercenary exploits, when it suddely became clear that the game has no local play option. No local play option. Even on the same Goddamned LAN, both accounts need to be Gold Tier Live accounts. You seriously have got to be fucking kidding me. "

But is that local play on LIVE, or offline as well?

I did a little digging, smelling out reviews. That is pretty much just for the online play. It does have split screen.

Pretty much, two players on the same LAN can't play online together.

Ha, when I moderate the Aust PS3 servers, I get/hear that all the time.
I laugh at those losers, and if they carry on like that, boot 'em.
I mean hey...you were both going for the same kill...it has to be ONE of you...by their own rationale theyre saying that they intended to kill yours?
Little self centred no life losers that play these games all day - as though thousands of online hours don't put their precious "ranks" high enough.
At home, I won't even bother with voicechat unless it's a locked server with friends...
