Speaking of the Shining. Interesting, these are some of the "big" horror films that didn't get selected this year: The Shining Carrie 1976 King Kong 1933 Nosferatu The Invisible Man 33 Shawn of the Dead Gojira (Godzilla) 1954 The Omen 76 The Howling An American Werewolf in London Dracula 31 Frankenstein 31 Quote:

Results for Round 2 Group A:
(If roshiq doesnt vote tonight, I'm calling it and breaking two ties: I think Body Snatcher 56 is a better horror film, going psychically deeper than Insidious. And the hardest choice to date: I'm going with the effectively horrifying TCSM over Hellraiser. 5 Evil Dead II (1987) 3 The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) 3 Carnival of Souls (1962) 4 The Evil Dead (1981) 4 Insidious (2010) 4+1 Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) 4+1 The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) 4 Hellraiser (1987) 5 Halloween (1978) 3 Ju-on: The Curse (2000) Great runs for Carnival of Souls and Insidious. Running total for Round 2 Group B: 5 The Exorcist (1973) 1 Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) 2 Friday the 13th (1980) 5 A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) 5 Dawn of the Dead (1978) 1 Get Out (2017) 1 Eyes Without A Face (1959) 6 Psycho (1960) 3 The Fly (1986) 4 Candyman (1992) |

Well, on second thought, maybe The Shining and Werewolf in London. Surprised Bloof didn’t pick that one. |

I wasn't that fond of Halloween 2. I enjoyed it. But as a kid I knew something about it wasn't as good as the original. I'm going to watch all the sequels as I barely remember them. And probably settle on the first three Halloween movies. Although people keep saying that Halloween 4 is really good. |
1. Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Another tough one. I love both movies. Sinister is one of the best modern horror movies. Night of the Living Dead a classic. 2. The Lost Boys (1987) But I still haven't seen Black Christmas. I just saw the 2019 version and it was terrible. I reviewed it on HorrorDVDs October watching topic. 3. Suspiria (1977) But I really need to see The Innocents as soon as possible. 4. Aliens (1986) 5. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) |
halloween 3 vs a nightmare on elm street 3!

One of the problems with Halloween 3, is Halloween 2. If Halloween was going to be a successful halloween-themed film series, they wouldn't have made Halloween 2 as a part 2... that pretty much squashed the idea. Quote:

Nobody is back voting on the prior Round 2s, so I'm going to call them here.
Round 2 Group B: Candyman pulls off an upset over perennial favorite The Fly (1986)! Halloween 3, Friday the 13th, Get Out and Eyes Without a Face get run over by bulwarks Exorcist, Nightmare on Elm, Dawn of the Dead and Psycho. Round 2 Group B results. Bold moves on. 5 The Exorcist (1973) 1 Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) 2 Friday the 13th (1980) 5 A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) 5 Dawn of the Dead (1978) 1 Get Out (2017) 1 Eyes Without A Face (1959) 6 Psycho (1960) 3 The Fly (1986) 4 Candyman (1992) Round 2 Group C: The Changeling upsets blockbuster Aliens! Black Christmas EEKS past The Lost Boys. Round 2 Group C results. Bold moves on. 7 Night of the Living Dead (1968) 2 Sinister (2012) 4 The Lost Boys (1987) 5 Black Christmas (1974) 6 Suspiria (1977) 3 The Innocents (1961) 4 Aliens (1986) 5 The Changeling (1980) 6 Poltergeist (1982) 3 A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) |

Alien (1979)
Salems Lot (1979) (this would be a tie for me if it wasn’t for Salem’s Lots special effects, fright night’s are better over all, but the vampire teeth in Fright Night look too much like grits imo) Jaws (1975) The Thing (1982) Predator (1987) (Another purely personal preference) __________________ |

I do like Halloween H20. I think I prefer that to Halloween 2018. But I need to see the sequel. I'm not sure I like where that series is headed. I thought Myers should not have escaped that basement after all of Laurie's planning. I guess the problem with every great movie is, it is so difficult to make lighting strike twice. |
I guess the contest will continue to have difficult picks.
1. Can't pick I love both movies. I know it's cheating. But I can't choose on this one. I collect props and posters for both. 2. Haven't seen either yet 3. I need to see both of these I haven't seen Jaws in years. 4. The Thing (1982) 5. Predator (1987) |

Great battle so far, here's the results so far...
7 Alien (1979) 2 Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) 5 Fright Night (1985) 4 Salems Lot (1979) 7 Jaws (1975) 2 The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) 9 The Thing (1982) 1 Paranormal Activity (2007) 4 The Haunting (1963) 6 Predator (1987) I didn't know Predator had so much love. Or is it Haunting doesn't have that much? = p |
Alien
Salems Lot The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari The Thing Predator |
This is our highest vote total so far. I'm gonna call it here. Fright Night nicks past Salem's Lot. I was a little surprised Predator inched past The Haunting; I don't think we would have seen that last tourney, well mostly because of the 13 folks who submitted films, Predator wasn't even on anyone's list.
Round 2 Group D: Results 7 Alien (1979) 2 Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) 5 Fright Night (1985) 4 Salems Lot (1979) 7 Jaws (1975) 2 The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) 9 The Thing (1982) 1 Paranormal Activity (2007) 4 The Haunting (1963) 6 Predator (1987) |
