Alucard is the son of dracula in the Konami Castlevania games ONLY, in Hellsing the anime, as in most other literature, he is ACTUALLY DRACULA.

Watch the last couple episodes of that anime and you'll see the split screen shots of him being compared to Vlad the Impaler who was Dracula. He also IMPALES his last enemy in the ending episode.
