But you know you're gonna have to...

_____V_____ 09-17-2008 10:20 AM

And so, FINALLY, the Sticky is up, folks! :D

It took a LOT of effort (and a lot of arguing and counter-reasoning, back-and-forth) but the judges finally got their wavelengths together and cobbled the compilation.

Although we are still a bit divided on the Honorable Mentions right now...but I hope that will be sorted out, asap.

Enjoy the Sticky, and ask for your favorite star's blurb!

neverending 09-17-2008 11:50 AM

I will of course, do Oboler, also Ackerman, Arkoff, Fisher & Sangster.

urgeok2 09-17-2008 12:00 PM

i'll do Adrienne Barbeau.

not her blurb ... i'll just do her.

Doc Faustus 09-17-2008 03:32 PM

I could do Dante, Kafka and Honda.

_____V_____ 09-17-2008 08:30 PM

All yours, gentlemen.

(Psst Urge, can you hammer out a few lines in-between all the hammering?) :D

_____V_____ 09-20-2008 09:58 PM

***ATTENTION***

Blurb-writers NEEDED!

neverending 09-20-2008 10:14 PM

I'm working all weekend. I'll get to the rest of mine next week.

Doc Faustus 09-21-2008 07:46 AM

I'll be on mine tomorrow.

I wouldn't mind doing Tobe Hooper(unless somebody is doing it already). But it would have to be a rush job, as I have to go to NY on Tuesday.

missmacabre 09-21-2008 06:04 PM

im gonna work on mine tomorrow after I finish up my css homework.

Festered 09-21-2008 07:49 PM

So, I never got a reply on this. How does this work? I've done a Hooper blurb. What happens now? I send it somewhere, or post it here?

neverending 09-21-2008 08:30 PM

Send it to V

_____V_____ 09-21-2008 09:39 PM

Received your blurb, Festered.

It's a rather lengthy one, so if it doesn't fit, I might have to edit it. :)

Festered 09-22-2008 06:10 AM

Yea, I did ramble a bit. Punch it up, if you have to.

Papillon Noir 09-22-2008 07:55 AM

I can do Tod Browning and FW Murnau if they are not yet spoken for.

All yours.

btw, Tobe Hooper blurb is up.

Written and rambled by Festered, edited for the Sticky by yours truly.

Doc Faustus 09-22-2008 12:59 PM

One of mine's in your box. I'll have another for you tonight.

The_Return 09-22-2008 01:07 PM

I know I didn't contribute a list, but I would gladly come up with some blurbs if someone could post a list of which ones are already taken.

Miss Macabre requested 5 blurbs, and I gave her those and deleted her PM, so I don't remember which ones she took. I hope she posts which ones are hers in here.

Murnau is with Papillon. Doc has 1 with him too.

NE hasnt sent in any of his yet, and I have no requests pending right now.

So, feel free to choose any 5, Return...more likely than not that they would be free and all yours.

Anyway, Tod Browning and Franz Kafka blurbs are up.

neverending 09-22-2008 08:42 PM

I still plan on doing Arkoff, Fisher, Sangster & Oboler. I had to work the last several days.

_____V_____ 09-22-2008 08:51 PM

All yours.

I am guessing the older nominees will get finished first, before work starts on the newer ones.

Bub the Zombie 09-22-2008 11:44 PM

If there are any left, I would like to do a blurb or two too.

_____V_____ 09-23-2008 08:18 AM

Sure thing, Bub. You are very welcome to choose some/any for yourself.

(And I am so glad you came back to stay, bud!)

Check your PM box. :)

_____V_____ 09-28-2008 07:58 AM

***Bump***

Ishiro Honda blurb is up, thanks to Doc Faustus.

I would love to have more people writing blurbs for their favorite horror personalities, if they can. Come on, folks!

The Flayed One 09-28-2008 08:00 AM

I'll do Clive. He's pretty much the biggest inspiration to me in my personal writings.

_____V_____ 09-28-2008 08:02 AM

All yours. :)

The_Return 09-28-2008 10:22 AM

If they aren't spoken for, I'd love to do Vincent Price, Ed Wood and Dwight Frye :)

ChronoGrl 09-28-2008 10:40 AM

Holy shit.

It took me a while, but I FINALLY got around to reading the list and I am impressed and happy with the final decisions. There are some honorees on there whom I WANTED to vote for, but wasn't sure were applicable in the sense of the list (ie Bosch, Dante, Poe, Lovecraft, Stoker)... I thought that they belonged on the List, but I interpreted the exercise to be restricted to directors, actors, screenwriters and not necessarily their inspirations. I am VERY glad that I was wrong in this interpretation and that the tribunal recognized them. Inspiration belongs on that list as much as the mediums do.

As for people needing blurbs, I know that I've promised V blurbs before, but there are a couple of icons on there whom I think deserve some attention. If I get myself out of my current rut, I might have to write a couple.

Excellent job organizing, V, and tribunal - great job with the honorees.

Whoa...oh yes. Still waiting for your blurbs, Miss.

fortunato 09-28-2008 09:01 PM

yo, v. i'll take campbell, schreck, and lynch, if that's alright.

edit: and r.l. stine, too.

_____V_____ 09-29-2008 03:32 AM

Okay...all yours, J.

Papillon Noir 09-29-2008 07:57 AM

I will also take Ed Wood if he has not yet been spoken for.

I know I also still have FW Murnau which I will finish today or tomorrow.

_____V_____ 09-29-2008 08:01 AM

Nope, nobody has asked for Ed Wood yet.

All yours, my lovely butterfly. :)

*cough cough*

_____V_____ 09-29-2008 08:25 AM

lmao...okay, the one who sends it first gets the honors. :p

Update - Vincent Price blurb is up on Page 3. Wonderfully written by The Return, not requiring one alphabet or symbol of editing. Great job!

Thank you, my friend - Vincent hold a very special place in my heart, and it was a joy to write a tribute to him :)

PS - My Ed Wood blurb is in - what about you Noir? :p

_____V_____ 09-29-2008 08:35 AM

Not only in, but up too.

Page 1 - Ed Wood by The Return. Lovely little blurb...very neat.
