Despare 03-21-2008 07:55 AM

He won't be the seventh but angrymob may indeed be a victim of Newb as Hitchcock knowledge helps Newb score 2 points this phase. Wait.. angrymob did get a point though, this race is heating up!

Neverending - 8

fortunato - 5

Angrymob - 7

Newb - 8

angrymob 03-21-2008 07:56 AM

Ya gotta admire newb's persistence!

_____V_____ 03-21-2008 07:57 AM

That's just ONE of his many admirable qualities.

Despare 03-21-2008 07:57 AM

Let me set this phase up for you guys. You're reading through the newspaper when you come across a small section of movie reviews. Unfortunately, the reviewers reveal little information about these movies but really pique your interest so you have to figure it out: what movie is this?

Your first review...

"I wasn't expecting much when I first popped this film in but I was pleasantly surprised from the very first scene of this atmospheric tale. Peter Cushing is great as expected but his co-star Pleasence does a pretty good job making people forget that Christopher Lee isn't in this one. Some grisly scenes of "burking" and attempted resurrection highlight this classic horror that shouldn't be missed."

newb 03-21-2008 07:59 AM

flesh and the fiends

Looking down at another review which reads...

"Like many of the Poe-Corman films, this one opens with a shot of an incredibly atmospheric, decaying estate, and Corman manages to make it look as eerie as any haunted house has ever been. Matheson's screenplay is also jam-packed with suspense. It would have been a perfect film if not for Damon's terrible acting. But then, if Corman hadn't hired him, he probably couldn't have afforded Price, who is amazing…"

The movie is...

agreed........

Fritz Lang is nowhere to be found but that doesn't stop our friend Lorre from delivering another brilliant performance in this often overlooked classic. Struggling to save her husband's career Yvonne turns to the only doctor she believes can actually help her. Fortunately for the viewer things don't go quite as smoothly as anyone plans which leads to a fitting finale. Do yourself a favor, don't miss this one.

Right on Newb! But Angry almost got it! Interestingly enough, Mad Love as we all know is based off the Hand of Orlac story. Nice try Angry.

And the last review in the newspaper reads...

"Frankie's figured out what went wrong with his past experiments: He wasn`t able to prevent the human soul from leaving the body after death. After mastering the technique, he waits until a suitable subject for his experiment arrives. And the subject arrives in the form of a badly scarred servant girl…"

Which movie is this?
