Wow, that was done quite well. How old were you when that pic was taken?

AUSTIN316426808 09-25-2007 01:40 PM

Just make it a category and let everybody get their own vote in, instead of going back and forth about it.

The film that made the biggest impact on the audience or world. I have one in mind already.

tic 09-26-2007 07:24 AM

Do you realise how many categories there are?

But OK, Fine, Whatever ..........

*I did ask for others I suppose*

ferretchucker 09-26-2007 07:27 AM

Maybe that should be it. We just need more people for the board don't we? I'll be on it. I wouldn't mind presenting an award.

Well dude, I can help out if you need more fingers in the pie....

For the remakes that should never be made, will that include ones that already have been and shouldn't have been?

Cheers for the first part.

I was meaning a film that hasn't been remade yet.

Im trying not to give examples but Im sure you can think of some yourself, where often in some threads the very mention of "there's going to be a remake of *********** makes you want to scream/ shout or just plain switch off.

For the second part that'll be in the Worst Remake category.

Hope this clarifies it a bit more.

If anyone else has queries regarding the meanings of the categories, just give us a shout and I'll try and clear it up.

Cool, just pm me with any assistance required. And I'll see what I can do.

ferretchucker 09-27-2007 12:48 PM

This should be fun. I'm looking forward to it.

tic 09-28-2007 01:07 PM

For anyone who is interested, I'll put the list of names for the presentation/admin tomorrow, I'm pretty tired right now.

Night all

before I forget, I'll PM all the possible "candidates" just to make sure it's ok with you.

tic 09-29-2007 02:43 PM

Hello folks

To the members who have replied or are considering, "thank you" :)

Im just waiting for the rest before I announce the Judging/Presentation team;

With a bit of luck the voting will start tomorrow and I'll will try and work out the best way for the team to be able to work together. I know we are spread far and wide and undoubtedly the time difference and other more important issues will play a part, not only to the administerial side but the actual awards night also.

-o-

The reason why there's about 3 weeks voting time is for the following:

1. I personally think that there are some pretty hard categories here - thinking time.
2. Im hoping for a decent number for replies, for a more accurate result.

Sorry if it's getting on people's nerves, mentioning the "oscars", it's just a bit of fun, trying something different, allowing everyone to take part, if they wish.

Don't want to step on anyones toes or anything.

tic 09-30-2007 03:49 AM

Me again (obviously, duh !!)

Once again to all the people who have said they wish to take part - Thank You. :)

I'm working on the list for the "party" as of right now, it's a good mix of members - new/old, young and perhaps not so young (I tried to put that as safely as I could ;) ) and guys & girls.

Not telling you who they are its a surprise

I am organising a few things at the mo' but will get the list up (hopefully) sometime today. (Seem to remember to saying that somewhere before)

*I just love brackets "(" & ")" though you wouldn't have guessed.*

the_real_linda 09-30-2007 05:41 AM

lol yep brackets are fun

totally looking forward to this :D

_____V_____ 09-30-2007 07:46 AM

I m with you on this one all the way, tic.

Its a great effort IMO, and I ll be here for you anytime you need me.:)

ferretchucker 09-30-2007 09:03 AM

I do not undertand how that could annoy people?

tic 09-30-2007 11:26 AM

Hi Guys

I thought I would make a view points:

I will definitely put a list up tomorrow 1st October that will show all the members involved in the Judging and/or presenting of the awards.
I will also inform the forum that the vote is now open and the methods used.

Each member of the forum can "and is positively encouraged to" vote on the categories.
One vote/suggestion per category is preferred, it just makes it easier to calculate.

The majority of categories, with the exception of Best Horror Film of the Year and Worst Horror Film of the Year relate to the "Best/Worst ??????? Ever.
The Lifetime Achievement Awards are (hopefully) self-explanatory.

Saturday, the 20th of October is suggested as a closing date for the votes, dependant on the number of votes received.

The awards will be held on Saturday, 27th of October (time: tba)

I've studied Law, does it show?

tic 10-01-2007 09:21 AM

There was a query made earlier that concerns the categories: "Is it OK to send in only some answers, if you don't have answers for them all?

Answer is a definite Yes, I would rather have one or two, than none.

Another query - Are the categories just for this year?
Ans: No, I think I said this to a couple of people the title Oscars is very misleading, it's just a name. All the categories except for Best/Worst Film of the Year (2007) relate to the Best/worst Ever, ie Best/worst ever Horror Film, Best/worst ever director of a Horror Film, Best /worst Ever producer etc.

As Promised The Unlucky 13 - Admin/Presentation Party:

Bleeding_Angelgirl
Dante's Inferno
Despare
Disease
FerretChucker
Fortunato
Gorephobia
Jenna26
Stygianwitch
The_man_you_fear
The_real_linda
____V____

and little ol' me

This list can be regarded as being pretty flexible, there are more important issues to think about - like having a life etc
So don't be surprised if things change.

A reminder of the Categories:

Nominees will be put up once I get enough votes.

At the moment it is way too early to give any hints, lets just say some of the categories have a clear leader and all categories have been answered.

Kane_Hodder 10-03-2007 10:41 AM

This sounds great. I will send in my PM soon, tic.

Disease 10-03-2007 10:41 AM

I'll be putting my votes in Late, I wan't to think about it good and hard!

tic 10-05-2007 01:42 AM

Im working on a couple of things at present - regarding the presenting and/or judging.

I'll be contacting the judging/presentation party regarding a couple of ideas/suggestions/queries, very shortly.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 05:03 PM.
