Ive been thinking of picking that one up, might grab it this week sometime.

Placebo- Meds

There's no easy way to say it. This album fucking blows. After Sleeping With Ghosts I was afraid that Placebo was becoming a shitty band, and this new POS has proven me oh-so-right. If you're considering buying this record, do yourself a favor and just listen to Without You I'm Nothing again. Placebo sucks.

Picked up the new Tool but the new Pearl Jam scares me... the single SUCKS imo and I'm afraid the whole cd will follow suit.

So how is the new Tool? I've been a fan of their stuff for some time now, but the new song titles kinda make me nervous... "Rosetta Stoned?" Lame. Plus I've heard that they've begun using sitar... that's not a good sign.

I think its as good as Lateralus. A lot of critics are picking it apart because of the "filler" music, but i thing that adds to the dynamic.

I'm only half way through this one but so far so good.

bwind22 05-04-2006 10:37 PM

Pearl Jam has been on a steady decline since Ten.

NOFX - Wolves in Wolves Clothing

(There's a song on it about 'Seeing double at The Triple Rock.' The Triple Rock is a local Minneapolis punk rock bar owned by the members of Dillinger 4 that I go to all the time so it's pretty awesome that one of my favorite bands wrote a song about it.)

DCforC is a solid band! I'm just starting to get in to them. The album I've got (Not sure if they have more than 1 out or not) is really good.

NOFX rocks any venue they play. I don't like Warped (Or any other tour really) because they only get 30 minutes on stage and they only play their main hits. That being said, I've seen NOFX at 2 Warped Tours in the past and 4 other times as headliners.

Now here's a word to the wise....

If you plan on going to Warped Tour this year, DO NOT MISS THE LIVING END! They put on a phenomenal show!!! I don't care if they are playing at the exact same time as the only band you paid to see, skip your band and go see Living End. You'll be glad you did, I promise.

Charlies Angels - Full throttle soundtrack.

(i love the Pink tune and the Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting cover)

also some 3 CD 'gothic' set.
a bunch of unknown tunes from a few 'known' artists.

Despare 05-08-2006 08:49 AM

Tues. I am picking up Stadium Arcadium, anybody have any info on this yet? It's a blind buy for me but I do like RHCP.

Despare 05-14-2006 07:57 PM

Bought the new RHCP cd (and then double posted about it), good stuff lots to go through. Less than $12 for a double disc set too, great value. Don't judge this one by the single, even though it's good there's much better to be had here.

 what? (melodic hardcore kinda deal?) so many terms you cats have.

I got a couple of John Frusciante albums one is the Wake of Death and one is called Curtains and the other one is upstairs and I can't remember the name, both were part of the whole 6 albums in 6 months deal. Amazing stuff... a hell of a lot better than his RHCP stuff. Both albums were in a cheap bin and its a shame his solo work is overlooked. A true mastermind of the sad guitar spewing out lyrics that could rip your soul in two.
