I think he said that most of all these movies are coming for Hollywood Video... I rent at Hollywood Video so i see these movies available all the time. Most of them are B-crappy movies and he even admits it. Saves me time and money. I much prefer him to review the lesser known movies because how many times do we have to see reviews of the same old good popular movies.
Are there really any great B-Horror movies that came out recently on DVD? I dont think so. There should be a thread solely for recent B-horror movies on here because there are so many new B-horror movies coming out but I dont give them a shot. |

OVERALL SCORE: 3 out of 5: The story saved this one.. SPOILER ALERT!!!!!! If you read on you will learn about the whole movie... Ok, George was taking his family on a skiing vaction and their car broke down... Just so happen their was a phone booth right across the street...SO George goes to call for help and at this time his wife and daughter play snowball fight....Little did they know that a truck and a car were coming toward them from different directions...If you quessed what happen yet, then your right they get ran over by the truck...SO its 3 years later and he decides to move away...His friends set him up with their friend to rent him a house...And it hasnt been lived in for years....Well George a music composer takes it on and strange things begin to happen... Mostly loud noises....THe ghost isnt trying to kill him, its trying to lead him up stairs to a closet that has a secret room behind it....Once he gets in he finds a wheel chair and a journal of sort...So George investigates and finds out that the ghost boy was murdered in the room by his father....George then finds out where they had other houses and one had a well...The well was buried under the house floor...Goerge gets the owner to belive him about his visions and starts to dig and finds the boys remains...They call the police and they take the bones , but they dont find anything else....Goerge goes back at night and a necklace comes up from the well by the ghost....Well it has a Senators name on it....George cant believe it and confronts the Senator...THe senator then send his crooked police chief out to confront George... George doent give in...The Chief then tells him that he will be back with a warrant to search the house for the necklace... Well on his way back to the station his car is flipped and he is killed....George investigates the family necklace name and finds out that the Senator is an adopeted...The ghostboy was paralized and the father had to kill him to get all the money...SO his dad drowned him in the bathtub.....Then he says he sent him away for 2 years and thats how the Senator took the boys place....SO to the end...The house catches on fire from the ghosts rage and the George sees the senator walking up the stairs to the room..Then George gets outside and the house burns down...The end, like I said above the story is the best thing about this movie..... |
ok, now i have my benchmark for Rubenmania.
I'd have given this film a 4.5 at least ... and thats only because it's a wee bit dated now in hindsight (never a fair way to judge a film) when it came out i'd have given it a 5. Probably still deserves it .. George C Scott is a terrific actor ... It certainly doesnt belong with the rest of the rabble in this thread ! |

Dont read Wow, 11 killings and they were great...Some had gore and others you know stabbing....The best killing I thought was when the guy in the basement of the castle get the knife stuck through his mouth.....The best gore scene was when the guy in the bathroom trying to escape gets stab in the butt and then the inbred starts to pull out his intestines....Also their was a lady naked in this room of the castle, who was getting raped, so she could give birth and the baby was lying dead on the floor still attached to the cord....The love had 2 great scence..Chasey Lain was in the 1st scene and the 2nd was the hot blonde from the group.....Oh and Jenna Jamison really only had 2 small parts..We got to see her chest...Like thats something new!!!!! |

OK, the story starts at a restuarant where Busy is holding up the place...He killed the waitress and then kills the main characters dad and brother...He tries to hold back on killing the sister but shoots her anyways.... She lives and then we end up at their bakery that she runs...Her mother is a drunk and her assistant baker want to be a pro wrestler....Busy by the way was killed by the electic chair....Well a mysterious person knocks on the back door and leaves gingerbread seasoning...SO they add it to their other full 40lb seasoning...And then the want to be pro wrestler cuts himself and puts his arm right over the seasoning and drips all kind of blood in it and the Girl doesnt think nothing about it.... So the wanna be wrestler starts to scoop out the seasoning and adds it to the cookie mix and then the gingerdead man starts to form...The girl then cuts out the gingerbreadman design and sticks it in the oven...At this time the daughter of the new chain bakery across the street decides to stop in and leave a rat in the bakery...The girl catches her and they start to fight...Then the chain bakery daughters boyfriend comes in and stops them....They end up in the back room and the the oven starts to spark and burn away forming the gingerdead man....This is where it gets plain stupid...They let it out and he runs and hides....They take off to the front...Not knowing what to do they stay their and try to go back and kill the gingerdeadman....When they get to the back again only about 10 feet away the gingerdeadman is eating up all kind of goodies...They throw it back in the oven and run back up front...Then the girls mom shows up from some new entrance...Drunk and all and lets him out and he cuts off her finger...Then the girls coworker who works the register comes in and finds her and takes her away....So the group up front go back to the back and realize gingerdeadman is out....Ok why havent they left and let the police take care off it? Hmmmm, Fast forwarding the daughter of the chain bakery calls her father and he shows up and gets ran into the side of the building.....Time passes on and then the girl and the chains duaghters boyfriend go to cut on the power...And start to fall in love and forget about the real problem...Boy I was hoping they would of died....The chain bakery daughter then gets stabbed in the head.....So advancing now to the end...The wrestler guy shows up and starts to eat the gingerdeadman up...Blood spills everywhere....Next thing you know they leave out the bakery and leave the wrestler behind, so the girl heads back to get him and finds the wrestler possessed by the gingerdeadman...It was 4 days ago since i watched this movie, but I dont remember what happen....It doesnt matter...It sucked |

Their is 9 deaths and you only get to see 2 of them....Thats the only downfall of this movie.....The rest of the deaths you dont get to see......Their is alittle gore.....From how I took the ending the teacher and his outcast student are the ones who set up the killings and move on to different schools....ALso the outcast student has a twin that helps out.....Thats the best I can explain....If you take it different let me know.... |

How Dan becomes a zombie...They are at the beach and Dan is sleeping and this zombie comes from the ocean and falls on top of him and then spits blood in his face....Their are 7 killings...His 1st one is a jogger that he kills while his wife is shopping...This is the goriest kill of them all....The joggers intestines are hanging out....The rest are neck bites and other areas....To the ending dan is about to do the same to his wife like the zombie did him, but at the last second his love for her made him turn away and his vomit of blood went flying away from her..... |

OK, the story is great, the killings all happen the same....Their was 6 killings in all....All the women had thier skin removed from their face....WHy I said she was strong as heck...She put the dad up in a tree about 10 to 15 feet high....The brother was a big wuss and whined the whole time he was getting his legs smashed by the woman....The sister the main character had a gun that she used only once and when the disfigured woman started to run after them, let me explain she was trying to chase down a atv...And doing a good job of it...Well the atv ran out of gas and the woman caught up and both of them were just screaming...SO the woman who only grunts the whole time gets in her face and then the girl tries to use the gun and thats right it was out of ammo...SO she's fighting of the woman and grabs her knife...At this time the girl gets her lip busted and the woman starts to trip out, like she didnt want nothing to do with her because she messed up her face...SO the girl figures it out and uses it to her advantage and starts to carve up her own face, why what a stupid girl, she could of just stabbed her...SO the girl tries to talk her out of her evil ways, this is were it gets real bad...The woman gives in and the girl stabs her...Like any other horror movie the just walk away....So they get to their car and no keys...The brother tells her that one of the victims have them...So the sister runs back to get the keys in only about 1 min which took them about 10 mins to get that far on the atv...On her way to get to the keys the woman was gone....So they drive offf and only going about 5 miles per hour they go past some new campers and the brother tells her to turn around to let them know...SHe says we will let the police tell them, reminding you that they are still going 5 miles per hour...Now for the ending, the woman jumps into your face at the end from the back seat.....Dumb |

And what a shocker, check this one out....Dont get to excited...Its just a good movie.... A slasher film.....You should enjoy it... 'Hostel'
Just a question and I know the film doesn't technically fall into the genre, but I was wondering what you thought of 'Hostel'? At the beginning I thought it was going to be all 'American Teenage Lads Go to Europe' n things. But I really did get into it, loved the concept and particularily liked that they used unknown actors. Good stuff all round, then I always was a sucker for the 'dark parts of our psyche' stuff.www.martintreanor.com

Hi, Gyser...I havent seen Hostel yet...But I should be checking it out within the next couple of weeks, because it should be an MVP movie by then...I rent from Hollywood video and I usually have to wait for new releases to go mvp in 30 to 45 days..I pay 14.99 a month for 3 movies a day...

Saw the new Omen, unlike most people I thought it was good too. Word for word to the original, but thought the kill the journalist scene was way better done. At the minute, apart from finishing my second book, I'm chunking through the 'Dark Tower' again. Never read them back to back before, it's heavy going but worth it. To Rubenmania keep up the good work, I enjoyed your reviews and intend renting out The Nun, going by your recommendation. Would've been nice to swap opinions on films, books and stuff.
