wasn't that an Artisan movie? Those are usually hit or miss. I've seen like one or two from Artisan that were good.

Made 1973 John and Laura Baxter are living in Venice when they meet a pair of elderly sisters, one of whom claims to be psychic. She insists that she sees the spirit of the Baxters' daughter, who recently drowned. Laura is intrigued, but John resists the idea. He, however, seems to have his own psychic flashes, seeing their daughter walk the streets in her red cloak, as well as Laura and the sisters on a funeral gondola. I have this on DVD. I think it was ruined for me because my friend told me the end of the movie before I had the opportunity to see it, the end, to me, is what gives a movie that edge of being really bad or really great. Everyone has their opinion, you may like it. I didnt, thought it was boring and took too long for anything to really happen. Im a big fan of slasher type movies with a lot of gore, this is more of a psychological thriller in my opinion. |
thanks for the plot summary...i enjoy phy. thrillers so i think i might have to check it out.

Squirm, The Incredible Melting Man, Birds of Prey, Oasis of the Zombies and Daddy's Deadly Darling are films to avoid at all costs.

Oh and Psychic Killer.

Wes Craven's Chiller.
Oh God oh God oh God. What an awful movie. Guy got put in a bodycast by a car goig like 2 mph. It'd be a tough choice for me between this and Jigsaw for worst movie ever. |

lol@"Chiller". That was made-for-TV crap.

The Village, I did NOT consider this a horror movie. And the assholes on the tv and radio that entire summer were saying "Scariest movie of the year", which I think they say that about every horror movie that comes out. I wanted my money back when that movie was over. Ninth Gate- when it ended the only thing I said was "what the hell just happened???" |
They always say "scariest movie of the year" no matter what it is. It's all about marketing and making money off of main stream crap. And what is the deal with using popular music for movies? I'd rather watch a movie with "horror music", it adds creepiness to the scene.

Yeah, it's watchable, but the movie is as boring as hell.
|
Anything from Dark Castle. Despize the stuff
p.s. I thought the gate was alright (3/5) |
Usually Artisan has a good share of bad movies. Look at "Children Of The Living Dead". York Entertainment is worse than that. But "Dark Castle".... I dunno.... I'll have to look for that name and see what movies are under that name.
|
what movie did you watch and then question why you watched it.
the village made absolutley no sense, but joaquin
phoenix, and bryce howard(ron howard's daughter) were great in this movie, but it was silly. and halloween 3 season of the witch, it made no sense cause it wasn't even in the halloween series. shaun of the dead seems silly, but haven't watched it yet though. |
Re: Movies to avoid...whats your list?

Maybe the likes of Van Helsing (a worthwhile educational experience on the lengths a film's distastefulness can go when a filmmaker is given CGI to play with -- hey, that reminds me of Star Wars Episodes 1 thru 3) and Brothers Grimm. My point is, no matter how bad a film seems to be, something can make me hesitate about pressing Stop, though it may not necessarily have anything to do with the film's merits, no matter how little there may be. For instance, I sat through Undead once...because it was April Fools Day. Distilled further...any film is worth watching once. |
So you've never seen shit like....
"The Day It Came To Earth"---- it started out great though. Mafia guy fucks up a job, gets rubbed out, metor crashes into the lake, revived, and violently kills two people within minutes. After that, it slowed down to 2 MPH and I fell asleep through half of it. The film used was such low quality that thing like a black n white cop car, you could not see any black, car's panels, tires, etc.... or any of the darker colors. "Disembodied"---- still can't figure WTF the point of that movie was except it dealt with an alien chick and some professor trying to find her. They even had a scene where shit would appear and dissappear on a shelf or roll around using stop-motion? Reminded me of shit of something that you'd see on Sesame Street from the mid 70's. "The Item"---- talking worm that will infiltrate/destroy the mind of whoever would attempt to keep it captive.... need I say more? "Axe em"---- really lame slasher and not wide screen.... a 1 inch black bar "box" around the TV sceen. 15 guys or so and one killer with a small knife. Ran back into the house almost "Scooby-Doo" style. Like they couldn't gang up and beat his ass. Really shitty acting and I shut it off when half of em were screaming directly into the camera. |
Kill baby, Kill
what low qaulity boring shit. |
Can't be any worse than the crap I've rented. Had I bought the shit movies I've rented, I probably couldn't give half of em away. lol

Watched Coffin Joe twice. Slept through the second viewing. And happily survived two viewings of Beware of the 4D Witch. |
lol Believe me, especially when it comes to a shitty movie like "The Item", you would regret watching it cause it'll waste a good 90 minutes of your life. :D Like I said, "a talking worm.... need I say more". :p
Ehhh, I suppose when I think about it I don't regret watching em too much considering how I'd be so compelled to jump into a pit of sharp spikes if I had purchased those movies instead. :D It sucks that the ratio of bad horror movies outweigh the good ones. :( |
Off-Season and Chupacabra Terror Are my bottom picks. I can't believe I wasted money renting these.
|
Carnage: The Legend of Quiltface
Die Hard Dracula The Grudge Feardotcom Jeepers Creepers 2 The House That Vanished Dracula 3000 Ghost Watcher The Werewolf of Washington Dreamcatcher Sleepwalkers American Psycho 2 Cabin Fever I Still Know What You Did Last Summer |
I forgot about House of the Dead. Why do they have to put Sid Haig in the sequel? Now I have to watch that piece of shit too.

I didnt think JC2 was that bad, either. Not nearly as good as the 1st one, but still an enjoyable, mindless hour and a half. |

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer sucks, Jeeper Creepers 2 is also bad. Cabin Fever is very boring, except one scene, for which i didn't regret watching it :p
I found "Sleepwalkers" and "Feardotcom watchable... |
Quote:
...eehhh correction I thought you did the list....:o |
Cabin Fever: The very last scene, in the general store, is gold!

If I can put it in another way (for the last time), I could happily spend a month watching all the little movies in bijouflix than the same amount of time watching the garbage coming out of mainstream these days. And I would still very much to see that talking worm... |

Fresh nick, fresh thoughts, a more critical eye :P BTW, Dreamcatcher can be a really enjoyable film for those, who doesn't read the book. But otherwise you get very angry to especially to the ending of the story. But anyway watchable... |

I just watched two horrible movies called "Creature Unknown" and "Detour". Pure crap. I think they're under a movie production company called "The Asylum"? |
The Grudge, any of the scream sequels, and Istill know what you did last summer!
