first off, sorry if i offended anyone. i have no prujudices, i dated a canadian girl for three years and have some very good friends from the south. it's funny to hear that you on this thread (from the south and extreme north) say that you over tip. i wish you'd come eat at my restaurant. but i stand by what i originally said at the start off this thread, when i hear a southern or canadian accent nine times out of ten i get 10% or less. i'm not making this up. strangest damn thing. i'm not calling these folks cheap or anything, i was just wondering if the customs were different where they come from. apparently not though. i guess i've just had bad luck the last 6 years.

you also have to take into place that the taxs' differ from state to state. what they are i have no clue, im only 16 and couldnt pay attention to anything if my life depended on it. but i have a couple cousins, well over 40, and second cousins who im sure have had and restauraunt job before, now i think one is with the fire dept, anyways thats off subjuct. but not every southerner tips bad! although i've only been here for 7 years out of my life. but i do know old people tip bad!!!!! omg! dont ever move to st pete!!!!!!! i swear its like gods waiting room!!!!!! omg, if it werent for state theatre and baywalk i'd die!!!!!!

I am southern ..
I am like this if I get good service then I tip well but if I get bad service I dont tip at all.. okay I defended myself... :D |
generaly, if the food is good and the service came with a smile, and the resturant was nice then I'll tip a bit more than I normaly would.
If it's an okish service, the waiter will get a tip, but it wont fill up their wallet. |
I'm Canadian, and I always tip atleast 20%.
But I know alot of people from my hometown tip like 25 cents. |
