Batman and Robin = death to the batman movie legacy....

KBV2 totally sucked compared to KBV1. Too much shit to list. I agree with the quote from a critic who said Quentin Tarantino is in love with his own voice when reviewing V2. It was a major let down on so many levels.

I haven't seen it. I've heard that it was slow and not as much action as the first one. I loved the first one. I haven't bought 1 or 2 on DVD yet. Just waiting till they release it in a set with all that extra shit.
I watched the first one again last night on DVD and watched the teaser trailer for the 2nd one. And the teaser was so bad. That's why it's a teaser, right? I don't know.
But yeah, Uma's awesome.

KBV1 was a fantastic mix of genres, over the top martial arts, anime and music. KBV2 had none of that. There is about a 5 minute fight scene (if that much) between The Bride and Elle, maybe 2 minutes when The Bride and her Kung Fu master spar and the worst of the worst: about 10 seconds of the big showdown between The Bride and Bill where (and I am NOT making this up) they never even leave their chairs where they were conversing. No interesting music bits, no new characters (except for the Kung Fu master which has been in every Samurai Sunday movie on your local UHF channel and The Bride's 4 year old daughter), no anime. Even if you did put the entire story in chronological order to even out the pacing, the second half would still be flat as hell plus you'd still be stuck with the weak ending of Bill and The Bride. All the loose ends are tied up at the end for the most part, but it still leaves you with a feeling that something more should've happened.

All that is so true....but as Sam says......if it was meant to be one film.......It would have been balanced.

A bad call..........Left us with one great film and one slow one.........which should have never happened in the first place!

No it wouldn't. All the great action sequences would still be in the first half of it. Budd shoots her and ties her up, 5 minute battle with Elle (which could've been massive since she quite obviously held a grudge against Beatrix) and that awful ass ending with Bill would still be in the second half. If Beatrix's hit list was rearranged perhaps it could be more even, but nothing can fix the Bill ending (unless she killed him first and worked her way down the list instead).

He supposedly wrote it out all first before the weird time frames ( I do it myself sometimes as well for my screenplays, but not often). They were supposedly all shot at the same time so he didn't do such a hot job on editing V2 then to make flow as well as V1. It almost seems like he wasted all the good ideas and footage on V1 and just culled the leftovers for V2. Very un-Q-ish.

the short fight was because they ran out of time/budget. They were supposed to do the fight on the beach, but the producers told them to wrap it up. The short fight fits the story just fine. If The Bride can wipe out the Crazy 88, she shouldn't have THAT much trouble killing Bill, who is no doubt out of practice at actually fighting. And it worked in the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart technique better than a long epic-type sword fight would have.
