it is an English thing... mayo and chips, another one i like, whenever I leave the boozer at night, we'll go down to the local chippy and get a load of chips and cover them in burger sauce.....mmmmmm delicious :)

Hellmans is the best stuff i've had in the Uk, get lots of french varieties, but dont really like them as much as hells

I 'm not sure why this reminded me, but have you ever seen "A Fish Called Wanda"? It just reminded me of Kevin Kline's line:

"Ahh, the English contribution to world quisine... The chip."

Yes you do :)

The resteraunts on the NATO base we were stationed at were all either German or British. It took a while to get used to saying things like "chips" and "biscuits" when we call them "fries" and "cookies", but once you learn the lingo, you are on easy street.

They also did fires with gravy, due to the large canandian population on the base. It was a fried-food heaven :)

Same here. :)

We are Boston bound. i would suggest Paris to her if we had the money, believe me. As it is, we now have a 1 hour drive to hour honeymoon (okay, limo ride ;)), and no jet lag :)
