Good times, Nova....Hopefully the little guy has a smooth transition from the pants to the potty.

Back on the subject, nova, how old is your son? Lily has been a late bloomer in the potty category, she will be 3 in December but just got really good at knowing when she needs to go about a month and a half ago (although she is ahead of the curve in just about everything else :))

He turned 2 at the beginning of this month, so for a boy that's pretty quick.
He has two older sisters though, which makes a big difference.
Also he is the first child I have ever bribed with candy..I think that's a horrible way to teach anything but it works for him.
(I am pretty laid-backed with him about everything and he is probably the healthest, happiest, problem-free baby out of all of them. )
He knows if he goes peepee he gets an olly-pop and if he goes poopy he gets chotlet (4 or 5 M&M's )
Also I have been shooing him in the bathroom all summer with his Daddy -because I have never potty trained a boy, so I want him to see how daddy does it.

Firstborn are always around 3 though.
And boys are usually 4.
That's the natural, normal age.
Some babies have a hard time letting go of things that come out of their body, so don't be surprised with your girl wanting to grab poos and stick hands into the bowls filled with pee- totally normal although completely stomach turning:)

My firstborn was 3 and one summer I just let her and her baby sister go naked most of the time and they potty trained together.
I really didn't do much except asked if they needed to go, they pretty much did it on their own.
I think most kids are like that though, once they decide no more diapers- it's done.

Even though we have official 'nakie' time everyday, my son is constantly taking his diaper off and yelling "eggo!! eggo!!" until I give him those Diego pull-ups ,LMAO.
He loves the fact that he's 'in charge' of pulling them up and down.
So after this last batch of diapers are gone- he will just use the pull-ups:)

you'd better hope you arent instilling some deep rooted pavlovian effect here ..

he's 20, out on a date, desert comes and he craps his pants.

A more likely scenario would be he gets the stomach flu and gains 30 lbs.
