Also, a very powerful scene from Platoon :- (***WARNING - HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD***) - When Willem Dafoe mows down a bunch of vietcongs and walks back with a grin to Tom Berenger, who isn't smiling at all, and has THE look on his face...Dafoe's grin fades, and he instantly realises. Before he could even think, Berenger shoots... ...and when they are all air-lifted in a chopper, out comes Dafoe, running through the trees, chased by a thousand vietcongs...clutching his chest and running for his life...they look on down helplessly, while he raises his arms towards them...just as bullet after bullet starts to thud into his body... ...god, that is such a HUGE scene, in every sense of the word. I got the goosebumps just typing it out, thinking about it. |
