Have you ever watched anything from Jan Svankmajer? Alice might be the easiest movie to find. He does some crazy stuff.

EQUINOX (1970) has some fun stop-motion animation. It's a bit of a precursor to Evil Dead too...

The best thing stop-motion has ever generated was South Park.

i think most of the creature action was superimposed live animals made to look big..

Stop Motion Pro is very good for stop motion, i made a 2 minute animation of 2 clay figures i made wrestling, came out very good and proffessional looking
