Sure, you're all excited to see this new movie, but it's just a remake of an older movie, which means that it will probably suck.

Most remakes do.
When they made the Ring, they made the Ring 2 and The Grudge. All 3 sucked.

saw it opening day, and it was actualy pretty good. it was basicly the original just modernized.

they also made the kill er more fucked up.

The Ring, and The Grudge were both extremely well made films.

The Ring 2 was a laughable piece of crap.

i wish people could coherently express why they think certain films suck - especially when they are so competantly made.

The Grudge was made by the same director of Ju-On.
he used the same style, told the same story, didnt allow the quality of the film to drop at all .. i saw them both almost back to back and i cant chose between them which is better.
(and i saw the origional 1st)

i just got back from seeing it, and i liked it for the most part. i don't care what anyone else thinks, the suspense in this movie leading to the stuff near the end was very good. it was chilling with all the calls and such, and the jump out stuff with that damn cat. i thought this movie has some very intense jump out stuff, which is what i like to see. i like how they kept it basic, with not a lot of slashing and such, and it was very realistic compared to most horror films today. the battle with the killer is somewhat stupid, but the ending is what really caught me... it was retarded. i think it should have been completely different. overall i enjoyed this movie, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat for a little while, and its fairly well done.

I dont understand how anyone can think this movie looks good from the preview...Did they look for the worst actress they could find who had little to no emotion. Just they way she answers the phone makes me cringe. I usually give remakes a chance, and I like a few of them, but this one looks ridiculous.

Hmm, not really. The original took part in 3 chunks, all spanning a few years. The "killer's in the house part" is only the beginning chunk of the movie. They took a 20 minute scene and turned it into an 85 minute long movie.

i think you need to see the whole movie. a lot of the stuff that happened in the previews didnt follow what was said in the script at the time. for instance, she wasnt looking through a window when he said, have you checked the children. and for the record, there have been much worse actresses than her, and you need to lookinto things more before you judge imo. for the record i liked this movie, but it is definently not the best thing out there or anything.
