Heres to hoping for a good Saw 2 and more horror films being released that are like Saw and NOT like House of Wax. That's what we need damnit.

But yeah I really enjoyed seeing Saw in theaters, decent acting(although Glover was pretty painful to watch), great gore, awesome story, good cinematography, creepy music, scary villain, and best of all a shocker ending that was the absolute last thing I was expecting.

Great flick. Are the same guys behind the first going to be working on Saw 2?

I hate to say this- and it goes against everything I predicted- but I liked House of Wax better than Saw. I don't know, it was a remake not even close to touching the original, but at some very short moments I felt the joy I get from watching old slashers like Friday the 13th and Halloween. I just didn't get anything out of Saw. And,I don't know how many times I have to say this, but the acting along with the cinemotography was just simply awful and extremely rushed.

(Not to mention watching Paris Hilton die in such a great and gruesome way in House of Wax brought tears of joy to my eyes...)

oh come on! what's up with no one liking house of wax, i thought it was amazing; and saw was just as good, you know you loved the twist at the end of saw, and a dude being covered in hot wax and left for dead, come on, top that... it can't be done...

Are you guys insane? I'm not meaning to disrespect you guys but House of Wax was undoubtedly the worst movie I've seen in the last five years except for maybe Blair Witch 2. Yes there were some enjoyable kill scenes(as there are in every horror film) but the acting was horrendous, the plot was terrible and not like the original(isn't that the point of a remake?), and the villains were terrible. I'm not even going to go into the shitty directing and writing and the dialogue that made me laugh my ass off in the theater.

Worst waste of money on the movies since going to see Darkness Falls.

Saw however, was great. It reminded me very much of Seven. The acting wasn't bad I thought, aside from Danny Glover who was pretty terrible. I thought the cinematography and camera work were excellent though, just because its rushed doesn't mean it can't be good. There were moments in the movie that seemed so slow that it would never go on but they passed quickly enough. And the kills man they were amazing and so creative and disturbing. I especially totally loved the scene where the man is forced to crawl through the barbed wire maze, that was fuckin creepy.

Sorry to rant.

I liekd Saw quite a bit, but i garuntee you would be annoyed with the way it plays out. It is right up there with Se7en when it comes to "everythingmust fall into place" for the murders to work.

I liked it though. Must be my own guilty "Style over substance" pleasure :D
