got my cartilage pierced today. both ears too. i’m gonna eventually get more piercings. done at piercing pagoda, oh one awesome thing. after they pierced my ears one of the ladies was like “omg you have TARDIS earrings. i jumped and screamed with awesomeness, i found a whovian i told her i got em from ebay..which i did and practically the whole mall was staring at me at this moment, but did i care NO

yea a piercing gun, i don't think i would of done a needle. i got both ears, and they did them at the same time. it actually didn't hurt as much as i thought it would. i hate needles yet i want a tattoo sometime, but this was ok, and i'll get more someday. these i just have to keep in for about 8 weeks, then i can change the earring pieces,but i have to have a earring of some sort in for a year at all times, and currently have to turn it and clean it twice daily

Never a good idea to get a piercing done with piercing gun. They are hard to clean between piercings and are rarely sterized the way that they should be. Putting a sterile stud into a contaminated gun obviously contaminates the jewelry with what ever bloodborne pathogens the previous victims had.

Though getting pierced with a disposable needle might appear 'scarier' - tis a lot safer than a gun.

Heres some more info on it.

There are other reasons why the gun isn't a good method but risk of Hep C would be top of my list.
