Didn't see "Conrack" - Did you like it?

This almost reminded me a bit of "Tideland," though that was a LOT more depressing and significantly more f'd up.

I don't know that "enjoy" would be an appropriate word. I saw it in high school, it was a field trip for English class (going to see the movie), and it definitely stuck with me and made an impression. Obviously, since I graduated from high school in 1977! LOL! :D

EDIT: Just looked a couple websites that sell DVDs, and it's apparently not on DVD. Amazon has VHS copies.

The Devil's Carnival (2012)

http://i346.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps2052a711.jpg

Only less than an hour long, this horror-musical from D.L. Bousman (director of SAW 3, 4, Repo! The Generic Opera & The Mother's Day [2011]) centers around a devil's carnival set up while concentrating on 3 Aesop's Fables stories, with the main characters each representing a fable...Grief and His Due, The Dog and Its Reflection and The Scorpion and the Frog. Personally, I'm not a good fan of Musicals but I think here Mr. Bousman has done a pretty nice job. I liked it & won't hesitate to recommend it to any Musical lovers.

"Frankenweenie" (2012)

Plot:
Young Victor Frankenstein (Charlie Tahan) is a science nerd and outsider at school, but he does have one good friend: his dog, Sparky. But then, tragedy strikes, and Sparky shuffles off this mortal coil. Victor is heartbroken, but his science teacher (Martin Landau) gives him an idea of how to jolt old Sparky back to life. The experiment is successful, and all goes well, until Victor's fellow students steal his secret and use it to resurrect other dead animals -- with monstrous consequences.

Phantom's Review: I loved this movie. Beautifully animated and filled with tributes to the classic horror/monster films that are my favorites. Very funny, occasionally sad and very well voice acted.
A nice treat to those of us who are fans of the classics.

Let's see...

I watched Bestseller, which is a Korean movie. Really good and tends to be a bit slow in parts, but good.

Let's see, also watched V/H/S which was just twisted in it's own way.

Mmm...And the first three Scream films.

Ghost, another Korean movie.

Yeah, I tend to have a lot of time on my hands.

We watched V/H/S the other night. It was ok. It's hard for me to get over my prejudice against the "found footage" style.
