Read a review saying it was surprisingly good and it is.
No, it's not original and there's typical horror logic but I liked it more than a lot of movies in the same genre.
Anyone else seen it?

Yup. I thought it was crap, An interesting story made very uninteresting.

I thought Honeymoon was alright for a no-budget flick. So...yea. You suck.

Carrie (2013): 7.5/10

While the acting was reasonably good, it just did not capture the emotion or intensity of the original performers. I mean the mother, in the original picture, alone should have been considered for an Academy Award, in my opinion. Another thing to note is that the people in the new film just did not seem realistic. They seemed like societal picture perfect models.

I felt the actors in the remake seemed more realistic, what with the fake tans and bronzing makeup. That's the world in which we live, the world Carrie's mother is fighting. The main actors in the orig. were borderline over-the-top with Piper Laurie nearly turning into the Wicked Witch of the West. That said, I MUCH prefer the acting in the orig. Sometimes it is better to be memorable than to merely serve the tone.

The Dyatlov Pass Incident (2013) (aka Devil's Pass)

http://media.ifcfilms.com/images/fil...er_280x415.jpg

Went in not knowing much and expecting less from this found footage snowbound horror. It is pretty well acted and the 'pay off' is worth it and conclusive, which is nice for a change. I was even more shocked when I saw Renny Harlin's name as director.

Worth checking out.

Crap! Don't waste your time on this one. Really, don't.

Not at all. I always prefer movies to be R-rated (unless it's a Pixar movie or something similar).
What do you prefer?
An alien with blood and guts or some liquid metal machine with a lot of sparks and grey oil for blood?
I prefer Aliens, Starship Troopers, District 9, Elysium,...
over Battle: Los Angeles, Transformers, Avatar, Battleship,...
I can understand people liking popcorn flicks like the above but they're not my cup of tea.

What I got from your post is that blood and swearing makes a movie better.

I found it rather interesting; besides, it has Ginger from Ginger Snaps (love her).

7/10

Sorry, I couldn't get the darn image to show up correctly :(

I wasn't sure if I was going to like but I did. Funny, sometimes the movies you hear the least about you end up liking more than the ones that were so hyped up!
