Iron Man.

Turistas

I liked it a lot more than Hostel or Welcome To The Jungle because the story was a lot more believable but ultimately it was a case of who fuckin' cares. I'm really starting to lose my patience with modern horror flicks especially the bigger studio stuff.

Fireproof
I understand it might be helpful to the audience it's after but it sure as shit isn't saving my marriage.
The big white guy was funny, the rest was just a long public service announcement for Jesus

haha, you pretty much nailed it, elvis.

so last night was my fourth annual horror movie marathon, and we watched:

the monster squad
the cabinet of dr. caligari
horror of dracula
onibaba
i drink your blood
a bucket of blood
house of 1000 corpses
blood and black lace
the beyond

it was fun, but a lot of people wouldn't stop talking (loudly) about pointless stuff, made it hard for the people that really wanted to watch the films.

The Strangers

meh......kind of bored me

Feast 2

not as good as the first.....some interesting bits ...some of it was a mess. Gulager is not afraid to push the boundaries though....I'll give him that.

Couple of pretty fun flicks.

That Duel Project was awesome and I recommend those flicks regularly. Which one got your vote?

Cool list you finally came up with. That sucks about people being jerks though. Was there drinking involved? It's pretty easy to tell film freaks and normals in a situation like that. The freaks are actually watching the movie...

yeah, i was really impressed with about the first forty minutes or so of this one. i thought they did a great job playing with the pacing and slowly introducing suspense and tension. the scene where the record starts skipping and they're making all that noise was really really well done.

after that, though. i definitely have to agree with "meh".
went downhill fast.

Death Race.

Not so much as a remake per se, its more like a re-take of the cult classic. My respect for Paul W S Anderson as a filmmaker went up by a wee bit, and I thought I caught Roger Corman's name under exec producing credits too. Its definitely recommended for anyone who doesnt mind a fast and mindless racy action flick, with ample doses of cheesy dialogue thrown in for good measure.

The effects are not limited to any budgetary restrictions either. Jason Statham is no Stallone or Carradine, but he does a competent job. My only gripe - Tyrese Gibson. For some reason the guy just annoys the heck outta me. Rest of the cast round off beautifully, with a nice little touch by Joan Allen. Pretty refreshing to catch a glimpse of Robin Shou too, after a long gap.

Is it great? Nope. Good? You can say so. I would definitely recommend it to Urge, Newb, Elvis, Return, Flayed and others who dont mind enjoying 90 minutes of cheesy, fast and fun-filled action stuff. If you are a serious movie critic though, stay the hell away from this one.

Elvis are you listening? This one's right up your alley, bro.
