Man with the Screaming Brain

You know...I was a little bit let down. It was a fun movie, but I was expecting more from Bruce. He was in top form, as always, but the script was pretty lackluster. It had it's moments, but I really wouldn't recommend it unless you're a die-hard Bruce Campbell fan.

The Ruins

Pretty boring excursion into LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS,DELIVERANCE, DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS and even Hichcock's LIFEBOAT territory. Boring dialogue mixed with gross gore; however, I did get all itchy and paranoid about things burrowing in my skin. I give it a D+.

I was disappointed with this one. Had a couple of cool moments but is pretty average. Loved the bit in the restaurant!

Fortress 2

The original is one of my favorite prison flicks but the sequel doesn't live up to the original. Blandly scripted and no over the top fun moments like its predecessor.

The Ruins - 6/10
Not bad for bubble gum horror. The plant CGI was cool. I also like Jenna Malone. She's a pretty good actress.

Sunset Blvd.

This is only the 3rd Wilder film that I've seen (after Ace in the Hole and Sabrina), but I'd really have to consider him one of my favourite writers/directors. There are very, very few people out there with an ear for dialogue like this man.

I loved the other two movies, but this is just the definition of a masterpiece...pretty much perfect in every way. If you consider yourself a fan of film and you haven't seen this, you really owe it to yourself. Brilliant, brilliant movie.

Shadow Of A Doubt.

SHADOW OF A DOUBT Is a quietly creepy venture into American menace; Hitchcock's juxtaposition of humor and the macabre is sublime.
NORTH BY NORTHWEST has plenty of plot twists mixed with tongue-in-cheek humor; this film, of course, has the iconic images of a plane chasing Grant through farm fields and Grant and Saint dangling from the faces on Mount Rushmore. The sexual innuendo is very strong. It even has a train going through a tunnel right before Grant and Saint make love ; you can't get more suggestive than that! All film students should study every frame of this.
