Shame. It started so promisingly for a low-brow effort, but by the time the second half comes in, the film falls flat on it's face. And that ridiculous ending!
* *
The film starts off with an absolute sucker-punch of a brutal scene. Slow-paced with quite a few surprising Hitchcock-ian turns. You can never judge people by how they talk & behave, that's for sure. And the film has so much grief that between this one and The Truth About Emanuel, I need some serious cheering up. Going back to my Hammer classics just for some much-needed air.
Oh by the way, it's recommended to pretty much every one who doesn't mind a slow-pacer riddled with twists which will boggle your mind until the very end.
