As a Tolkien fan who has read the majority of his works I was very happy with Jackson's adaptation. He clearly knows his Tolkien, and even when he took license, he did it in a respectful and fun way. All the naysayers can kiss my ass, this is a great film. :D

I love, love, love Peter Jackson's work!! The LOTR and The Hobbit movies are my favorite series ever!! I lost count on how many times I have watched them!! I hope to see more of his work!! ::big grin::

Despite its faults - I can watch this movie again and again. Great Characters, snappy dialogue, strong score and a plot that makes no sense. Great stuff trumped only by its sequel.

This is another movie that I can watch over and over. There just wasn't much that I didn't enjoy with this one.

Shame. It started so promisingly for a low-brow effort, but by the time the second half comes in, the film falls flat on it's face. And that ridiculous ending!

The film starts off with an absolute sucker-punch of a brutal scene. Slow-paced with quite a few surprising Hitchcock-ian turns. You can never judge people by how they talk & behave, that's for sure. And the film has so much grief that between this one and The Truth About Emanuel, I need some serious cheering up. Going back to my Hammer classics just for some much-needed air.

Oh by the way, it's recommended to pretty much every one who doesn't mind a slow-pacer riddled with twists which will boggle your mind until the very end.

Non-stop thrills, non-stop suspense.

Recommended.

Than I saw the cast and the R-rating so I gave it a go.
It's not bad. And quite original. Something I can always appreciate.
But some jokes just don't work imo.
Spoiler "The scenes where they keep repeating stuff were just dumb because of the context. Stuff like that only works in a silly Family Guy-like situation.
I think the whole movie would've worked better if they really took the Airplane/Naked Gun route all the way.
"
Still worth the watch.

Haha - Yeah; I agree on the humor; some is brilliant; some is just plain stupid; but the pace is so fast that when a joke doesn't hit, you're onto the next one.

Have you seen "Wet, Hot, American Summer"? Same writers. Uneven but funny.

I watched it a couple of months ago.
Don't remember that much. I think it was just ok but mainly because of the cast.

I'll have to check this film out. Looks right up my alley.

Want to see a cheer-up movie? Watch Yellow Submarine.
