You wanna know what annoys me?

The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and The Golden Voyage of Sinbad.....

They took the great full-screen images for these films and CROPPED them, to make fake widescreen compositions.

uh................................................ .THAT'S LAME.

They cropped out all kinds of good stuff when they did that. They cropped animation, mattes, puppets, all for their silly little widescreen frame.

When the film starts, even the Columbia Pictures logo is truncated. The torch lady has no feet!! I mean WTF??

This is the obverse of the other problem--it's an obsession with widescreen causing these companies to "force" a widescreen composition on movies that weren't wide to begin with.

You think Universal is going to crop Creature from the Black Lagoon or Frankenstein? No waaaaaaay! It's crazy! Never happen babe. They've done some silly nilly things, but they won't do that.

That's right. This is why I've never taken Man Bites Dog over to their house.

cropping for fake widescreen is the same as formatting for fullscreen ... it's all bullshit ..

I dont see the big deal with Widescreen/Fullscreen. I never even bother to look before I buy a movie, it really doesnt matter to me. Once Im watching the movie I dont even notice the difference, it's not like that tiny little bit on the sides cuts alot out. Uh oh, I cant see his elbow:rolleyes:. I just grab whichever is closest on the shelf, Id say I have about an equal number of each in my collection.

It's simply not the original aspect ratio so it isn't true to the original film presentation. Of all people I'd think you would understand. :p
