Okay, here goes:

The ship in this movie is modeled after the Notre Dame cathedral.

Part of the ships antenna array contains a complete model of an X-wing fighter from the movie Star Wars.

This film was produced entirely in the U.K., even the special effects.

Ok:

- Nicholas Cage was originally considered for the lead role, but was replaced by a famous funnyman.

- A conversation about the Tom Waits album "Rain Dog" was cut from the film

- A train is featured prominently in the movie, and all scenes aboard it were actually shot on a real, moving train!

Nobody?

- Its fairly recent, and won an Oscar
