Oculus (2014)

Good, not great, horror. A top 25 horror film for the year, which is more of a testament to the lack of great horror this year than to Occulus's intrinsic brilliance. It's a down year in horror when Godzilla is the best movie.

ZOMBIELAND (2010). OK flick which has some funny moments and decent zombies, but found the characters unlikable and humor gets forced quickly, but worth seeing once.
Noticed it was filmed in Georgia (like THE WALKING DEAD) and the scene where Columbus meets Tallahassee on the car strewn highway sure reminded me of TWD opener for Season 2...a lot. **1/2

I loved it. It was so much fun. All of the characters are extremely likable and entertaining. The villain was kind of generic but for a first movie villain, he was fine. I really liked that they didn't take this movie too seriously as it is kinda silly but i liked that it wasn't dumbed down too.

Into The Storm

So i had a hard time at first getting into this movie because it's shot in a way that looks like found footage but it's obviously edited in more of a documentary style but there's no reason why we the viewers should be watching it. One character does end up with the footage at the end and i guess i could understand them compiling it together for a documentary but that was never said and plus there was one person's footage that shouldn't have been able to be used as well as two other characters whose footage definitely would not have been used. That's another thing, there were way too many people with cameras. But once it got into the plot it got a lot better and was good.

Very good. It kept your interest and I really liked how it was filmed. Liam was great as always.

Really difficult movie to watch but really well made. Acting was great, and I liked how there wasn't really an antagonist and protagonist because both Haley and Jeff are pretty fucked up. I also liked how Haley would trick Jeff (and the audience) to think that he has an advantage. One thing I didn't like was how quite a few of the shots were extremely shaky.

Webb went the Raimi route, and left Paul Giamatti's Rhino a cameo. Too many things happen at once and poor Spidey is left with very little in the end. Still, a pretty flash-bang-bam-wham entertainer.

Better film than the one above. Well fleshed out characters, an excellent story taking up after the events of the first film, plenty of breathless action and fantastic actors. Specially glad to see Robert Redford back.

Oh, and Scarlett Johansson's tight ass still kicks...well...ass!!
