Well it seemed as though they were more intent on playing a heap of shit music through out it rather than trying to make a good film.....

Maybe if I hadn't seen ten movies already that covered the same ground it wouldn't have been so bad, but the format that the movie followed, for example the seasons the animated writing, it was all to familiar and unoriganal.

I knew I'd get some bites on this one.

Steel Magnolias 8/10

when i was young and i watched it with my mom i always wondered why she cried so much. now i'm sitting here crying like a freaking baby. it's a really good movie despite the fact that it's really hard to see it at the moment.

Don't worry.

I will probably be there to back you up soon, dude.

And yes, music can ruin a lot of a movie. One of the main reasons i didn't like "o brother where art thou" and "ghostworld". Can't stand bluegrass.

About to pop in Dolls...
bought it for 5$ and had never heard of it before.
It's from Stuart Gordon, which sounds promising.

There Will Be Blood.

So many people recommended me to watch it, and boy...am I glad I listened!

Daniel Day Lewis is perfectly cast in his role, and he brings so many emotions together in his character throughout the movie, which shows his amazing and phenomenal talent (seriously, if you have any doubt...watch this or My Left Foot or even Gangs of New York). I dare say only Marlon Brando in The Godfather is just an edge better than Daniel in There Will Be Blood.

**MINOR SPOILER**

Just watch the emotions fly across Daniel's face when he screams "I told you I would eat you!"

****

This is a SUPERB little effort by Paul T Anderson. His Boogie Nights and Magnolia were gems in their own right, and with There Will Be Blood, he has achieved a new high. This man's good...really REALLY good. If it doesnt win an Academy Award, there's something SERIOUSLY wrong with the Academy Awards panel. Too bad it didnt get a wider release.

Anyone who is a lover of serious, gritty and realistic cinema should see this. I am buying the DVD when it comes out. Recommended to Rod, Alky, Newb, Jenna, Despare, Zwoti and anyone else who fits the bill said above.
