No Country For Old Men and Gone Baby Gone are easily two of the best this year. That's gonna be a good night.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street (2007)

Burton's newest film actually exceeded my epectations. The way this musical is presented, especially during the first half, is so darkly macabre it's mesmerizing. The second act isn't quite as intricately developed, but it does its job, and we do get the bloody finale we long for.

Death Race 2000 (1975)

Awesome, explosive exploitation flick with a rip-roaring cast and something to say...something that's still relevant thirty-three years later. Fast cars, nudity, violence and gore. Roger Corman's the man.

Zodiac Director's Cut
The only difference I noticed between this and the theatrical version, was that this version included a minute or so of complete darkness, with audio overlayed. News clips and popular songs, mostly. To show the transgression of time. I would have liked if there was video to go along with it, since the darkness seemed very awkward.

Resident Evil: Extinction

meh

Clearly the best of the bunch, but that still isn't very high praise. Why bother showing a devastated Las Vegas if you aren't going to go into any of the ruined casinos?

6/10
