I loved Skid Row when I was growing up. They're touring now, but they did this AWFUL revamp of themselves with a new lead singer and now they sound like a Bosstones/Green Day/Sublime crapfest. I was deeply offended.

I heard that song fripping through the radio. It must have been some old-time music program. I creeps me out hearing it. Makes me thing of incestuous murderers...

crabapple 07-30-2006 07:01 PM

Remember that Devo song "Just The Girl," the one that sounds all kind of robot like? Well I guess a lot of their older stuff sounds like that...but they wore those things on their heads...really catchy tune..."She's in the corner everywhere ya turn/You know you're headed for the pleasure burn" etc. Kind of like a horror song about infatuation........

If we are going back to our childhood

A peanut sat on a railway track
His heart was all a flutter
Around the bend came number ten
Choo! Choo! Peanut butter!!!

I actually end up doing THAT one, too!

Wow...I feel so much better now...Maybe it's NOT just me....

Perhaps it's just the really catchy tunes that end up getting stuck with ALL of us.....I just have no idea why the most obscure, come out at the oddest times...

@Newb...Most of the ones that still continue to creep in, ARE from my childhood...

They just never go away...

newb 07-30-2006 07:47 PM

funny.....my wife has said the thread title to me many-o-times.

:D

novadawn969 07-30-2006 08:25 PM

Evey time someone says fuck it, I get that Korn song stuckin my head :D

crabapple 07-30-2006 08:34 PM

Okay, if you remember around 1975, doesn't matter how old or young you were, really, but if you remember hearing songs on the radio back then, you may recall a song by Maxine Nightingale and it went something like:

Oo, and it's all right, and it's comin' along,
we gotta get it right back to where we started fro-om,
Love is good, love can be strong,
we gotta get it right back to where we started fro-om

crabapple 07-30-2006 08:37 PM

Somebody, somebody must remember hearing that. It totally was the 70's to me. I used to hear that blaring out of every radio, no matter where I went. Must have been really popular for a little while.

70's....sorry grandpa....we are all much too young to remember that shit.

Ooo and it's alright and it's comin' 'long
We got to get right back to where we started from
Love is good, love can be strong
We got to get right back to where we started from

Oh-ohhhhh
Do you remember that day
(That sunny day)
When you first came my way
I said no one could take your place
And if you get hurt
(If you get hurt)
By the little things I say
I can put that smile back on your face

Ooo and it's alright and it's comin' 'long
We got to get right back to where we started from
Love is good, love can be strong
We got to get right back to where we started from

A love like ours
(A love like ours)
Can never fade away
You know it's only just begun
You give me your love
(Give me your love)
I just can't stay away
I know that you're the only one

crabapple 07-30-2006 08:56 PM

That song gives me images of:

summer weather
bopping down the street
cold carbonated soft drinks
vending machines
bicycles

AUSTIN316426808 07-30-2006 09:25 PM

I saw a Pirates of the Caribbean commercial early yesterday and I've been humming/whistling/singing 'A pirate's life for me' and the theme of the movie all day.

Miss Olivia 07-30-2006 09:49 PM

LOL I just went and watched that today, so it's stuck in my head too.
Yo-ho.

As long as you're feeling nostalgic, how about Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive".

It could be worse, Zero - you could have a Partridge Family song stuck in your head! "I think I love you, so what am I so afraid of...................

Oh, are you gonna hate me now! :p

Miss Olivia 07-31-2006 09:28 AM

OMG...I do that one at LEAST once a day...When Alex was little, around 4-5 years old, I would sing it to him...It would go like this:

Me: I think I love you, so what are you so afraid of? (I changed it a little for the kids :D)

Alex: I'm fwaid of YOU

It was kinda like a little 'thing' we did...Know what I mean? :)

He still remembers it, too

I am no longer going to read this thread. My reason? I have 16 songs stuck in my head all at once! My heads gonna explode. The two main one's are Comfort Eagle by Cake and The Coconut Song... Especially the Coconut song...

novadawn969 08-04-2006 04:35 PM

stygianwitch 08-05-2006 01:36 AM

For the last two days it's been Hey Mama by BEP, thank god I know the words

bloodrayne 08-05-2006 02:34 AM

Oh...Have I mentioned the Smurf's theme song tune?...That one gets me ALL the time...weird...

And when people hear it..I get "Uhh...Is that the SMURF'S?"

So...Which is worse...The fact that I am often subconsciously singing this tune...OR...The fact that EVERYONE recognizes it when I do it?!..:p

bloodrayne 08-05-2006 10:10 AM

Just caught myself humming Jeopardy 'thinking music'

bloodrayne 08-05-2006 10:24 AM

Roderick Usher 08-21-2006 09:58 PM

The wife and I try to drive insideously catchy yet terrible songs into each others' heads. It's a sick little game, yeah I know, but it can be AWESOME watching the other struggle with

If I Had A Hammer

or

Open Arms

or

We Built This City

or

Juke Box Hero

or

Axel F

(ten years of this- going a little fuckin' nuts here)

My three year-old does it to me all the time.

BUT... I caught him with a Bowie song stuck in his head today. It was pretty cool to see my mohawked little monster singing STARMAN all damn day.
