Got my dranks and smokes already on stash...got me a cabin rented fer two nights at the hotsprings ....gonna see some live music and then go to an afterhours party...costume?....well it's still in the works....Whatta 'bout y'all?

Bloof 10-16-2017 01:21 PM

In the next couple of weeks I will be attending a Victorian seance with a well known mentalist at an unknown location, going to a little goblins ball in the village and trick or treating with my grandkids.

Roiffalo 10-16-2017 05:25 PM

Ugh, take me with you, DBad. That sounds like a fun time. Make sure to watch Evil Dead if you're gonna lock yourselves in a cabin for a few days. lol

Myself? I dunno fully yet. I'll have to get back to you.

Really? Parapsychology is my lifelong hobby. I've been to a Halloween Oct 31st "show" seance to contact Harry Houdini (my friend booked tickets for us)... but as the date might suggest, or ticket sales might suggest... it was totally a silly show, not serious... including a ridiculous motor rumbling in the center of the giant round table shooting up powdery smoke... ::big grin::

Is your Victorian seance serious (as far as you know)?

That sounds awesome!!!

Bloof 10-17-2017 02:42 AM

It is for real. If you Google - The Manchester Hill Seance Jaymes White- you should be able to find a blurb about it. The unknown location has a very dark history and is supposed to be more paranormal as opposed to jump scares. I go on the 26th with my sister, niece and my daughter.

I'm really looking forward to it! I'm a bit worried about my sister, I don't care what anyone says, but she's the real deal. The dead have presented themselves to her before but she does her best to suppress it. She's not into it all. I'm the flamboyant horror lover but my deadpan, salt of the earth sister gets the "shining", lol. I just hope nothing "attaches" to her.

Dead Bad Things 10-17-2017 05:37 PM

Myself I always use some Dragon's blood oil when things start gettin' spooky...
smudge might be good before and after too. Bucket of water even is good fer trappin' 'em.

Bloof 10-18-2017 09:25 AM

Well, I was thinking of taking some sage but I really feel that I have a commanding and somewhat intimidating presence when I want to. I really rely on this...if that makes any sense. ::confused::

What was the gist of it when the dead presented themselves to your sister?

I've felt some bodily indicators of fear when faced with some paranormal events, but honestly, I don't fear non-corporeal beings (you know, except God)... I'm only concerned with real humans doing harm. There are no remotely substantiated cases of a ghost killing a human, so might as well enjoy the show, right?

Bloof 10-19-2017 03:57 AM

I'm not afraid of any physical danger. I'm more worried of something presenting itself to my sister.
She sees dead people on the regular. Unfortunately, they are all strangers to her so we can't verify anything. Once she did see a woman in a nightgown hanging from a rope and the next day at work a lady was off because her sister had hanged herself the night before. My sister can also tell if there is a funky presence in a house, cemetery etc.

Oh, I see. Ya, that might be something you might want to see once or twice, but not at any time for the rest of your life. I read a personal account, and saw a doc (on netflix actually) of someone who sees spirits, and they don't want to.

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout....maybe a extra hole or two fer smokin' and drinkin' outta.

Bloof 10-25-2017 08:34 AM

Soooo, I attended the Manchester Hill Seance. It was a purely for entertainment only experience in my opinion. Some people were genuinely scared and I thought they were going to have to leave. The host claimed a triple murder suicide had happened in the house roughly 35 years ago. A teenage boy had killed his younger sister, both parents and had remained in the house 3 days before hanging himself. During the seance a picture fell off a wall and the piano played a couple of times. We also had tour of the house and used a ouija in the basement. I wasn't scared and was able to figure out a few "occurances". But it was well done and fun.

Dead Bad Things 10-25-2017 08:52 AM

Hubbawha? My jaw is droppin' on the floor Bloof!...and you did some Ouija in the basement too?! Dizzamn girl you spooky.

Sounds like it was a lot of fun!

Bloof 10-26-2017 04:00 AM

It was fun! The house had the funkiest smell though. Not like death or anything. Mold and old wall panelling. And for some strange reason there was vegetation hanging from light fixtures randomly throughout the house. The house is up on a slight hill hidden by trees.

I wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes in that house. Mold allergy.

Dead Bad Things 10-26-2017 05:13 AM

I wouldn't have lasted 5 miles away...superstitions.

This surprises me. Have you experienced something paranormal that makes you worry?

Dead Bad Things 10-26-2017 08:29 AM

Just my pagan beliefs Bloof...the spirit world is always around us ...the fabric we call reality is very thin...'specialy on this point of the wheel.

Ya, when I checked him out, and even specifically the Manchester Hill Seance (he's done it multiple years), I knew it wasn't a 'real' seance, just a show, but I surely wasn't gonna tell you and ruin the scene. ::wink::

On youtube he was interviewed by a local news TV station guy, where the story is slow news day advertisement. He came right out and said the seance was a simulation. Then the newsman actually said he was there the year before and there was knocking on wall and those kinds of things. So you know what it is. Plus, like you said, he takes the title of a mentalist, which is really being honest about using psychology to fool people for entertainment purposes. He even demonstrated how he 'fools' people with the newsguy.

Glad you had fun! How'd you sister hold up?

She was fine. That actually gave me a bit of a clue that the house had no "tragic or evil" past. She would normally have to leave a room if things were pulling at her or she sensed something. But she had a lot of fun too. It's a unique experience.

Saw a cute production with the kiddos last night. The Great Big Boo. It had live characters that interacted with characters on the movie screen. My granddaughter went as a werewolf and the werewolf character came up and made a fuss over her. It was a fun romp for all the kids there.
