it's at blockbuster and i've thought about renting it a few times.. is it worthwhile ?

the devonsville terror is definitely one of the worst horror movies i've seen....

theshadow 06-12-2004 07:17 PM

maybe it's not so much that 28 days later sucked. it just didn't live up to the hype. everyone kept saying it's so scary. Decent movie-not really scary. Same thing with the ring.

thEsounDofdirT 06-12-2004 07:19 PM

i personally believe that 28 days later and the ring rely on quality home theatre systems... they need to be very dynamic.. and quite loud.. that's where a lot of the scares come from

Hate_Breeder 06-12-2004 09:23 PM

I didnt like "The Haunting" remake really. actually aggrevated me sorta...

AGREED!!! I personally love that alot more movies are using UNIQUE scares with audio now....its a nice touch....the jump scare can only be used so many times:rolleyes: ....

Hate_Breeder 06-12-2004 09:37 PM

i liked 28 days later too. I remember when i was walkin into the movie theatre to go see it, i was looking at the movie poster for it, and these 2 hefty ladies walked by, and told me not to watch it because it was so bad. But i enjoyed that and the ring very much. Also one of the most influential movies using sound scare tactics was TCM with the chainsaw against the metal. Still that noise scares the shit outa me!

thEsounDofdirT 06-12-2004 09:50 PM

TCM was a superb movie in the use of sound production scare tactics... also, a very very wonderful film score

children shouldn't play is only interesting if you watch it knowing it's bad and take it in that spirit. i never saw demonsville terrer. guess i won't bother

Agreed....as long as we aren't talking about the remake...

thEsounDofdirT 06-13-2004 10:12 PM

i'm talkinga bout both... i really had a strong appreciation for the new remake

the original is so awesome also

Arioch 06-13-2004 10:18 PM

Original>Remake

I mean how many times can we be sold on the fact that she gets away because she doesn't have sex or smoke a joint and shes "pure" in the hollywood/slasher sense of the word.......i just couldn't get past the tired slasher stereotypes of the movie....and the blair witch project ending left me leaving the theater with vomit in my mouth.....http://img23.photobucket.com/albums/...Rayne/puke.gif

Hate_Breeder 06-13-2004 11:35 PM

say Arioch.....whats your favorite Deniro movie?

Mine is like a 3 way tie between Taxi Driver, GoodFellas, and The Untouchables.....
