If it was a lame cut version, they should sue. Cut versions of movies should be banned! :)

The 'Piss yer pants scene' isn't as traumatic for a 5 year old :-)

Night of the Living Dead. Saw it when I was four and was hooked. Been watchin' horror ever since.

First one I can remember is Child's Play, to this day I still love that movie.

flamethrower 08-27-2012 12:30 PM

Children of the Corn (1984)

MichaelMyers 08-27-2012 01:03 PM

Night of the Living Dead (original).

Not really sure what the first horror movie I watched was. Maybe The Howling... The first time I ever remember being scared as a kid was watching Salem's Lot. That jail scene made for a few sleepless nights :D

I can remember back in... well it started back in the 60's but I can remember back in the 80's, Sammy Terry and his Nightmare Theater reemerged on Channel 4 in Indianapolis then eventually fizzled out in the late 80's. I can't remember if it was Friday or Saturday night, but I do remember waiting in my bed with the lights off for my mom and dad to go to bed. As soon as my brother and I thought they were asleep, we would dial in the tv to Channel four and as soon as you heard that laugh you knew what time it was. :D

Either SCREAM (1997) or Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)

I saw bits of Jaws but was too scared to finish it, I also think Poltergeist might have been one of my firsts. But I don't remember exactly, it depends on what you consider horror.

the first horror movie I've ever seen would probably be Halloween the original. not the rob zombie one I'm not that young lol.anyway my mom always made a big deal out of Halloween at home and we would watch movie marathons together. I remember being like 10 and my dad taking me to get the second one and for whatever reason everytime id buy a copy it wouldnt work. but ever since then I've been hooked. so far Ive bought 4 different movies this week alone for my own Halloween marathon with my fiancé :3 I love halloweeeeen <3

First horror movie I saw that really got me into horror was Friday The 13th. My friend and I watched it together, then proceeded to watch all the sequels and remake.

Action Avenue 09-16-2012 10:21 AM

First horror movie: The Dead Don't Die
First horror movie that actually scared me: The Exorcist

I always wanted to watch horror films when I was really young but wasn't allowed to for ages and we didn't get a VCR for ages either... really frustrated me not being able to watch them because of OTHER PEOPLE'S fears - not mine!

Once I started watching, there was no turning back. The more someone said something was terrifying the more I wanted to see it to see if it really was.

I think my first proper horror film was Nightmare on Elm Street... although I watched a lot around the time I started to watch horror films, so couldn't say for sure if it was definitely the first, but it was certainly one of the first.
