Day of the Dead took place in the underground military complex.

I was thinking more in the line of a deserted island waaaaaay out away from any dead thing.

And thanks avenger for refreshing my old memory.

well see

i live in denver colorado and having done the math on a zombie apocalypse (hey look at me im super-dork), i think that the rockies would be an excellent stronghold. my main motivation for using the mountains as cover would be that the bodies of the zombies would deterierate faster in the summer and freeze in the winter, not a whole lot of easily acessable areas for them to gather in, plus i feel at home in the mountains. i think taking a road trip to the coast, finding a boat, and getting to an uninhabited island would be quite the risk seeing the area one would have to cross from CO. And honestly i dont really think a zombie apocalypse could last longer than a year maybe 1 1/2 tops. if youve ever seen how fast the human body decays when left out its pretty obvious that zombies would literally just fall apart after a few months.

yeah i know its pathetic. hey being a dork is the best.

this is one badass movie. this has always been a favorite of mine.. I really like when the dude is letting the platform down and all those zombies start going after them.. very cool :)

nightbreed 10-22-2003 11:22 PM

dawn...

man when i was a kid i used to think that movie was the shit and now i realize how much it fucking sucks (IMO). I mean for fucks sake the zombies are fucking green. WTF is that?!? I mean yeah the whole consumerist social comentary thing was kinda cool, but still, wack. Slow too. Anyways Day of the Dead was lightyears better. Itsall about Bub. yeah. enough ranting, sleep now.

Ritualistic 10-23-2003 01:59 PM

Both Dawn & Day of the dead were the shit IMO .. Nightbreeder do you like any of Lucio Fulci movies..?? I myself love Italian horror, but if you think Dawn and day are slow then you may think Lucio`s shit is slow. But the gore is wonderful

massacre man 10-23-2003 02:06 PM

nightbreed 10-23-2003 10:32 PM

i saw zombie many years ago and i must say it was quite enjoyable. a zombie fights a shark? fucking metal. oh yeah and that final shot of zombies over taking the brooklyn bridge was hot.

oh and i meant to clarify that i only thought DAWN was slow as hell. I love Day of the Dead.

avenger00soul 10-24-2003 06:32 AM

Speaking of Zombie, I heard a RUMOR that Paul Anderson was going to do a big budget remake of the Fulci classic. However, I heard this a loooong time ago so it was probably just a RUMOR!!!

Sean1605 10-25-2003 09:57 AM

I like Fulci to an extent, but as Ritualistic pointed out a lot of people find his work to be slower, myself included. But he has one of the most memorable shots in horror movie history with that splintered piece of wood.

Argento on the other hand goes into more oddball stuff, but in the same sense as Fulci there's just something, I can't put my finger on it, but something I don't like about them as much as I do a lot of American horror.

And fuck Paul Anderson, I'm still mad he's going to fuck up Alien vs Predator, on top of me being mad he fucked up RE, and that Event Horizon got so much praise but I found it so boring.

Sick_As_Fuck 10-29-2003 06:06 PM

I actually have no problem at all with remakes. If they're done righ, then mre power to the director. The new TCM remake was incredible IMO, and I'd also like to see an Excorsist remake. Maybe a more scarier/darker Poltergeist remake as well.

I LIKE TO REMAKE EVIL DEAD. I KNOW ITS A CLASSIC BUT I WOULD TRY MY BEST TO DO IT JUSTICE.

They talked about Albert Fish a little in House of 1000 Corpses. He sounded fucked up.

Rotten Cotton had a "I like children. They taste good." - Albert Fish
shirt at the Fango Con. I almost bought it, but then thought better of it as I don't feel like answering the same fucking questions every time I wear it.

Sean1605 10-30-2003 06:56 AM

Anyone else just read the last page of a thread and reply? I do all the time.

But catching up:

Is Victor Salva still doing the next Invasion remake? I know he was slated to, and now he also is doing that WW 2 sci-fi nazi/alien movie or whatever, so I don't know what he's up to. Definitely a strange guy though.

A six hour mini-series of the Thing? Sci-Fi does some weird stuff...*watches Stargate SG-1*

During a zombie apocalypse Alcatraz would be the best place to go. They have this big canon there that was put there like hundreds of years ago to fight off the French I believe and later the Japanese...it can shoot like 360 around the island. But you could rip out the canon and put a giant fucking machine gun in there.

Plus, depending on what movie you watch, zombies aren't very good swimmers. But in most movies they're not very good anything.

And still, P.W.S Anderson can go screw himself with a scalding rod.

avenger00soul 10-30-2003 07:05 AM

Okay, I tried to quote you but the quote button keeps taking me to porn sites. Weird.

Anyway, Alcatraz is a damn good answer. Better hope it's not the zombies in house of the dead though, they can swim like bastards. Haha.

Hey I have a t-shirt that says I am "running out of places to hide the bodies" and I get asked about it all the damn time.. well in fact I have many t-shirts that people ask about. BUT hell I tell them it means what it means
