Clarification - Elimination will be in a batch of THREE for every round. Which means, the lowest scoring three participants will be eliminated at the end of each round.
Plus, the choice for the category for Showdown will be determined by the first participant who is online at that moment. The numbers wont necessarily mean the order of the category. They will be jumbled up. Also, MOST IMPORTANTLY, at the end of each round (when we have two participants eliminated), I will REMOVE a category and ADD another category in its place. The winners will be required to send me their choices in THAT new category then. I will keep posting the leaderboard so that you can keep a tag on your scores. Think of this in Roman times' terms. You are all Emperors and Empresses, your choices are the gladiators, and Showdown will be the arena. :cool: |

(which will be randomised and not according to the categorisation at the moment) And whats the "Mixed Bag" all about, you ask? Well, if that participant chooses Mixed Bag, then random choices from any THREE categories go head-to-head against each other in the Showdown following the choice made. Like for example, a favorite book might take on a favorite character and a favorite song! ;) Same rules which I stated earlier. Run to 5 votes, and the winner gets 1 point, the losers lose 1 point. +1 -1 -1 And they will be entered into the leaderboards! :D With 18 entries already in, we are good to tee off the Showdown. I have been putting some thought into the Showdowns, and this is what I have finally decided upon for the process :-
The choice from the Grid will be followed by a choice of Challenge. Like say, for example, Chronogrl is online when I post the Grid and ask someone to choose. Chrono chooses "3", and then challenges 2 random opponents to take on. So it will be her choice (read gladiator) in the category marked "3" versus the choices of her 2 challenged opponents in the same category marked "3". (And since nobody knows anybody's choices, it will give an idea to you all too) Makes the whole thing a bit more realistic, plus you get to rip into others a bit too. ;) (Your choice has flattened his/her choice...MyBrute anyone?) For the "Mixed Bag" choice, the choices would be Row 1, Row 2, Row 3 (marked R1, R2, R3), Column 1, Column 2, Column 3 (marked C1, C2, C3), Diagonal 1 and Diagonal 2 (marked D1, D2) and some other permutations/combinations I come up with at that moment. The Round will continue till all the choices in all categories do battle with each other ONCE. Then we check the leaderboards to find out the first THREE eliminated participants. And so on. Right now we have 20 participants. I need SEVEN more, at least. Despare and The Return are two, so FIVE more oughta complete the leaderboard. Come on, HDC! |
