No one calls anyone. It is a snake draft.

1-??
??-1
1-?? and so on...(?? is the number of the final amount of people participating)

I will put everyones name in a hat to pick their order and then that is when the draft begins. You will have 12 Hours from when it is your turn to pick a character then when you pick you must PM the next person to let them know it's their turn.

Dude, we were just joking around.

Anyways, to whoever has read The Preacher series, would The Saint of Killers, be an anti-hero to you? I never got to finish the series, and I think somebody told me he turned out good in the end. Because I think him or Jesse Custer, or Cassidy would be great additions. Though, I head Cassidy became a bad guy.

GorePhobia 05-01-2008 11:27 AM

I wasn't sure if you guys thought you just randomly pick who you want.

Just wanted to make sure everyone was situated and knew how it worked.

So right now we have three people in. I hope this gets more people interested. I don't think we are doing a Comic draft though John I wanna do something else like a movie theme or horror theme.

Despare 05-01-2008 11:34 AM

Meaning I randomly posted my picks without waiting for my turn because I didn't read your explanation. I'll wait my turn. Edited it so people wouldn't steal my picks!

ferretchucker 05-02-2008 06:55 AM

I still don't fully understand how this is going to work?

GorePhobia 05-02-2008 11:05 AM

Let's say there are 15 participants. I will draw the names out of a hat and then post their order. I will give you and example:

Person 1
Person 2
Person 3
Person 4
Person 5
Person 6
Person 7
Person 8
Person 9
Person 10
Person 11
Person 12
Person 13
Person 14
Person 15

Those are all involved and then I draft the names out of the hat to get the order they will draft in. The new order looks like this: (In parenthesis is their draft order.)

Person 7 (1)
Person 14 (2)
Person 10 (3)
Person 15 (4)
Person 2 (5)
Person 6 (6)
Person 8 (7)
Person 11 (8)
Person 3 (9)
Person 9 (10)
Person 5 (11)
Person 13 (12)
Person 1 (13)
Person 12 (14)
Person 4 (15)

That is the order they will start the draft in and the draft is a snake draft so it will be:

Round One - 1 through 15
Round Two - 15 through 1
Round Three - 1 through 15
Round Four - 15 through 1
Round Five - 1 through 15

Each round you pick one character (depending on which draft we go with) Let's say we do HORROR HEROES DRAFT.

PERSON 7 goes first and has 12 hours to deicide who he/she wants to draft (hopefully it won't take that long LOL) They then post the person, a picture of the person, their name, what movie they were from, a video link, whatever they want to show who they drafted. Here is what it would look like when they drafted the person for example:

Ladies and Gentlemen I, PERSON 7, am here to make the FIRST pick in the 2008 HDC HORROR MOVIE HERO DRAFT.

I pick a man who was just driving along the road and stumbled upon an old house.

He is a man who saw a woman in danger.

He is a man who wanted to kill those "damn" zombies!

Ladies and Gents I draft...........

Then PERSON 7 PMs the next person who is supposed to draft next which would be PERSON 14 and then they have 12 hours to deicide and so on and so forth untill all 5 members of your team have been drafted.

Then you have a week to come up with a short story/write up for your team on why you drafted them or have a plot for a story or something. (You can also make a video for it if you want.) Then after that week voting will begin which will last another week and you vote on who has the best team, who was most creative, ect. The winner will win a prize or something if anyone wants to put up a prize.

Understand now?

you HAVE to read the ending. i actually dropped preacher for a long bit of its run - just thought it got self-indulgently gross (lost the tone and feel fo the earlier pieces and the gore/deparvity lost its shock value). but the ending is one of the greatest moments in comic history - not quite 'end of watchmen' or 'batman beats superman' but damn close

ferretchucker 05-02-2008 12:20 PM

Okay, I'll be in.

Despare 05-02-2008 01:43 PM

Sounds like fun, good idea.

GorePhobia 05-02-2008 04:14 PM

Alright so now we have: Missmacabre, Psycom, Ferretchucker, Despare, and myself. If anyone else is down let me know so we can start this thing asap.

We need to vote on what kind of draft we should do.

God I know, I want to get the rest of the graphic novels but I'm broke as a joke right now. My buddy who owns a comic shop is holding the rest for me but I have to pay him before I get them. Not only that but my subscriptions(a store thing, basicly he gives us a form, we write down what we want, and when it comes out, he keeps them in your own box, and you come get them when you can) are piling up. I have almost the whole run of the green arrow series, except for the stuff from about 3 or 4 months before the wedding bit. I also have the whole Deadpool series. Those two are my pride and joy. I almost have the whole cable deadpool series too, but that had way too much cable in it for me, so its not really my favorite. *looks at post* Yeah I'm going to shuttup now before this nerdgasm gets any worse.

If you do a comic book hero or villain draft, I believe I can get phalanx into it too.

GorePhobia 05-02-2008 07:25 PM

Well we can take a vote I guess on what kind of draft everyone would rather do.

We still need to get more people involved.
