Used to look down on people who could, when I was straight-edge (early HATE-edge in my youth after catching my parents growing weed in the basement which broke my little suburbanite A-student dreamlife)... But, at the moment, I'm to the point where, honestly, people can make their own decisions. I did my preaching in high school.

Anyone that thinks weed is worse on the body, mind or society in general, than alcohal seriously needs to do some research.

Enjoyed in moderation, they're both delightful. Taken to excess, pot will make someone extremely lazy and/or forgetful while alcohal kills people on the road every single day. This discussion should be a no-brainer. An extremely intoxicated person may start fights, say things they later regret, do things they later regret, etc... An extemely stoned person will sit on the couch and much on Doritos.

People die on the roads from alcohal all the time, sometimes people that haven't even had anything to drink. People can die when they drink too much of it and give themselves Blood Alcohal Poisoning. People can die when they've had too much of it and do something stupid (like climbing from balcony to balcony at a tall hotel on Spring Break or something.) I've never heard of a single person dying as a result of marijuana consumption. I don't even see how it can be debated.

Not for all people. It made me not able to sit still, cuz of the tingliness it caused all over my body. And I've done some wierd things on pot. So I do not smoke it. But I don't mind at all if others smoke it. In fact, I prefer some people to just be stoned. As far as liquor, I can handle that. Pot seems to have always handled me.

As a prescription it is legal.....

Not only that, but in parts of the US the fines and penalties for pot are now being reduced....

Here in the capitol of texas, passed by congress 9/1/07, if you are caught with less than 2 POUNDS (do you know how much pot that really is? wtf?) it is up to the officer's discretion to take you to jail or not....

Because the paperwork for pot offenders has become so rediculous they have left it up to officers to take you to jail, or just give you a ticket (much like a speeding offense) for a marijuana charge.....the times they are a changing....

but its really just to the rediculous nature of pots illegality and the reasons it was illegalized in the first place....

Vegas, and Denver is in the same boat as the guy from Texas, but I think Denvers is 2 ounces.

the "states legalize it so it must be ok" argument is moot. Most states are making it legal as a prescription, which means you have to have a medical condition to get it. Even so, some of the worst addictions come from prescription drugs.

Well. When you compare it to some over the counter drugs you can bring in a decent legalize argument. But fact of the matter is its still a drug and it still affects your body and mind in a negative manner.

I have smoked for about 10 years now a couple of times a week, i don't see anything wrong with it...I have not gone out and commited crimes because i was high, i don't steal to support my habbit...I work full time, go to the gym 4 times a week and live a pretty healthy life

I love weed.There's nothing wrong with it at all in my book.If someone trys to claim weed made them do something stupid most likely that person was an idiot to begin with.Plus weed is alot safer than any other drugs out there.It's much safer than booze but yet it's still illegal.

I love weed!! I'll tell you it IS alot safer and at least you know what you are doing while smoking pot. Not starting fights or yelling at people or puking. and shits all blurry. Legalize it if not like mentioned earlier... I will still chill out and smoke and pop in a good horror flick.;)

I choose weed over alchohol, because you can't drive while drunk. you get into fights or you get depressed. You kill your liver. You can become an alchoholic. those are the main reasons why I don't like alchohol as much as weed. Because with weed, what happens? You get hungry, and movies are funnier. I mean cmon... I understand that yes your short-term memory is effected by weed, but hows that gonna kill anybody? Hell, weed helps me to focus. You can ask any of my friends that I play video games alot better when im high, which is the reason that if we are in a competition like say, the upcoming Guitar Hero 3 tournament we're having, they try their damnedest to make sure I don't smoke, or I smoke them. On that note, I cannot play games when i'm drunk, because alchohol fucks with your hand-eye coordination. So I'm in favor of weed as apposed to alchohol. Say what you will, thats my opinion.
