Heat Advisory until next Thursday around here.
Today Heat Index:115

Is it just my faulty memory or is everybody playing up this heat thing?
Like it's never been this hot before and this is just so strange and extraordinary, etc.???

I remember around 1995-96? there was a tremendous heat wave and being warned by local news stations to stay out of the sun from noon to 3pm,because the heat and the UV danger was at extreme levels.
And I remember 1989 and a few years before- the same thing.
I was looking at the Bank temp and thinking "It CANNOT possibly be this hot"!
It seems to me there is alot more of this !!PANIC NOW!! from TV weather people.

Maybe I am just suffering from memory loss caused by this insane evil HELLLIKE heat that has taken over the WORLD.:D

i saw that al gore movie and i think he's right. . . time to move to canada with the penguin!

Vodstok 08-04-2006 09:02 AM

I didnt see it, so maybe im missing a reference, but penguins dont live up north, just wayyy south.

Global Warming can kiss my butt. I hate the heat. I could live with an ice age. i can make fire. And if i set my mind to it, i could kill a whale with a stick.

the gore movie is great and really scary (in a very real sense) - the refernce to penguins was a reference to the Return my favorite vamp-penguin

Vodstok 08-04-2006 09:51 AM

Oh, THAT penguin.

if you couldnt tell, Chilly Willy used to piss me off as a kid. As did(do) people who call Chimps "monkeys".

bloodrayne 08-04-2006 09:54 AM

LOL...No smartass award (unless ya really want one :D)...But...Thanks for the map...*starts packing*

MrJack 08-04-2006 11:06 AM

Hey, I'll take the heat over shoveling four feet of snow only to have some idiot snowplow clog the driveway for the third time ANY DAY. I love summer. I get to go repair computers at the campus where all the co-eds are trying to stay cool :D

Uh, don't tell wifey I said that. She's been reminding me a lot lately that she can legally kill me. Apparently she's been reading about a few women who got away with killing their significant others by claiming post-partum. So unless I'm on good behavior I got about a month to live (twins due next month).

I think she can still get away with it for SEVERAL months after the babies are born (at least I hope,MY plan isn't perfected yet:D )

Congrats to you and your wife:) and a tip for her: if she is near a pool-GO NOW,it is a godsend, especially the last month of this torturous gestational period.

Zero 08-05-2006 07:48 AM

well its finally wonderful here again - a crisp and dry 70 degrees outside. i even took my little puppy for a nice walk (he's been so lethargic with the heat) - the only problem was that I only had my left hand to hold the leash and the poop bag. still, now i'm on some painkillers and sitting on my balcony . . . ahh the wonder of it all!

stubbornforgey 08-07-2006 07:28 AM
