Drugs?

I haven't been looking around sites lately.

Hopefully when he's fully recovered he can work some indies. Who wouldn't want to see Angle/Low Ki, Angle/Danielson, or Angle/Joe?

I would like to see Angle in TNA or Ring of Honor. WWE claim he is injured, he was accused of sexual harrassment before and it makes me wonder with his "jump to ECW"?

I should point out Randy Orton & Big Show was accused at the same time and wth woman left the WWE. Big Show took most of the blame, but Angle was involved.

The STE 08-26-2006 12:07 PM

Angle was needing a really long vacation 3 years ago. His body is completely shot and he was suspended over a really bad addiction to painkillers. He's been one stiff bump away from being done for good for a while now. They had to fire him to give him some time off because he wouldn't have taken it on his own and if he kept going I wouldn't have been surprised if he died by the end of the year.

Kurt Angle says he's done with wrestling _ for now

The Associated Press

PITTSBURGH - Former Olympic heavyweight wrestling champion Kurt Angle says is he leaving entertainment wrestling, even though he is not formally announcing his retirement.

Angle said he decided to stop wrestling for World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. after he injured his groin, tore an abdominal muscle and injured a hamstring during an Aug. 13 event in White Plains, N.Y.

The 37-year-old Angle, a former high school wrestling and football star at Mount Lebanon High School in the Pittsburgh area, has been a wrestler/entertainer for seven years for WWE. According to the company's Web site, Angle received an early release from his contract after he no longer wanted to take pain medication to compete.

Angle said he needs time to heal before he begins to think about wrestling again and the WWE told him he can return when he wants.

A two-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion at Clarion University in western Pennsylvania, Angle won the 220-pound championship at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, defeating Iran's Abbas Jadidi for the gold medal despite competing with a badly injured neck.

Angle dropped to his knees on the mat and openly wept after being awarded the decision by the mat officials after he and Jadidi wrestled to a 1-1 draw during the eight-minute match.

After winning the gold medal, Angle left amateur wrestling and became a Pittsburgh TV sportscaster for a brief period, then became an entertainment wrestler in 1998.

===

I seriously doubt, if not flat-out don't believe, that he "decided to quit"

Sick_As_Fuck 08-28-2006 05:06 PM

He didn't quit. He wanted to go on but Vince wouldn't let him.

The STE 08-28-2006 06:56 PM

exactly. I wasn't kidding when I said I wouldn't have been surprised if Angle had died by years end had he not gotten fired. I honestly believe Angle would've kept going on until he was dead. But I can't even begin to imagine the media shit-storm WWE would receive if Angle died just 10 years after he won the medal. That'd be worse than Eddie and Owen combined (not saying Angle himself is more important than them, I'm only talking about press coverage). WWE firing him was, sad to say, the best thing for all involved

Sick_As_Fuck 08-28-2006 06:59 PM

Well there were those "death watch" rumors about Angle right after Eddie passed. Maybe they were true afterall :(

The STE 08-28-2006 08:20 PM

I'd say Kurt's been on watch for a year or so

The STE 08-31-2006 04:51 PM

I'd say that sums it up quite nicely

hitman3005 09-13-2006 10:37 AM

STE that was great! Does sum it all up. Still, I will be at the Smackdown/ECW show here in Wichita, Ks Oct. 4th. Have to see my old ECW faves! Even thouhg it'd been seriously watered down.

The STE 09-13-2006 09:56 PM

If you get a good enough seat, bring a sign that says "This Is Not a CM Punk Sign"

Freak 09-14-2006 03:10 AM

So whats up with Smackdown are they not showing it on upn anymore?I turned on the tube last week and couldn't find it on any channel. What's the deal with that.

The STE 09-14-2006 08:59 PM

WB and UPN merged into the CW, so your lineup might have changed

The STE 09-14-2006 09:05 PM

Tired of WWE? Tired/never got into TNA? Want some of the best wrestling around today? www.rohwrestling.com. Minimal storylines, emphasis on matches, and the matches are damn good. I especially reccomend:
Best of CM Punk
Best of CM Punk vol. 2
Joe vs. Punk 2

and, while I haven't actually seen the shows yet, I've heard great things about these from reliable sources:
Joe vs. Kobashi
Supercard of Honor
Death Before Dishonor III
Better Than Our Best
Unforgettable

one reason why 99.9% of all wrestlers can't touch Jake Roberts on the mic
http://youtube.com/watch?v=0vpxeouoIiQ

hitman3005 09-23-2006 11:33 PM

Oh man! I miss Jake. I wish some of todays wrestlers could be as good on the mic as he was. Hey, STE, i'm gonna take your advice and make that "This is not a C.M. Punk sign" sign. Watch for it on ECW on the 4th of Oct.!

The STE 09-23-2006 11:57 PM

how close to the ring is your seat?

hitman3005 09-24-2006 07:42 PM

Section 123, seat A. here's the chart. Hopefully it's on the side that will be viewable on T.V. shpuld be 1st seat next to section 121.

awsm. Hope Punk sees it

crippler666 09-25-2006 09:03 AM

Kurt Angle has officially signed with TNA!!! They claim that he has been in training for around a month getting used to the ring and generally keeping himself in shape.

If this is true, then WWE's original stand point of injury would be a lie.

Now he has left the WWE who do you think will state the real reason first?

The STE 09-25-2006 12:02 PM

this is a bad idea. Kurt was a (barely) walking bag of injuries, there's no way he's healed up enough yet. The only thing that's GOOD about this is that TNA's schedule is lighter. But it's still too much for Kurt right now

the_real_linda 09-25-2006 12:09 PM

ill be looking out for the sign.....so your going to a televised show and not a house show im guessing? thats sooooo cool! say hi to cm punk for all of us!

I agree its not so good if the injury is real, but I do wonder if it is.

Triple H had a knee injury, that required surgery. He was off for nearlly a year, could hardly walk for around 8 months. Yet he made Blade Trinity? Which he is in the Special Edition through out.

With special effects now adays they could easy make an authentic looking leg operation.

I think he had a slight injury, but not as bad as made out.

I read a report about Kurt stormed out of the main office in foul mood.

I think he was asking for a lighter schedule, but the WWE wouldn't give him the time off.

ECW came about and it worked for a while, but I think he saw it as a step backwards and his contract expired leaving him to sign a contract.

Normally it is 90 days before they can either sign a contract or officially join another company, Christian Cage could only do this after his contract ran out.

So it does look like Kurt was out of contract.

the_real_linda 09-25-2006 12:39 PM

kayfabe....i think its called including false injuries to let them have time off or do other projects.....all part of the show

crippler666 09-25-2006 12:44 PM

Yes but in Angle's case it wasn't anything to do with a story. The point I was making is that maybe they tried to cover up that Kurt Angle just walked out on contract negotiations with the WWE. Hoping he would return within a month or two?

kayfabe is one thing, but Angle's been going non-stop for years. He's scary to look at, his eyes are glazed, and most of his reported injuries haven't even been mentioned on TV. Angle shouldn't be wrestling. He should take a year off at least, if not just retire out-right. There's nothing kayfabe about that.

hitman3005 09-26-2006 08:15 AM

Check out TNA's website. They signed my man Kurt Angle!

The STE 09-26-2006 07:00 PM

that's what we've been talking about for 7 posts now

hitman3005 09-27-2006 07:56 AM

Wow! My bad :D

the_real_linda 10-02-2006 08:47 AM

edge or cena to win the cage match?????

hitman3005 10-02-2006 03:28 PM

Damn! I want Edge to win...but i know it'll be Cena. :(

Despare 10-02-2006 06:36 PM

I don't like Edge, I don't think it's because of the MH thing either I just really never marked for Edge. I always liked Christian more, hell even in the Brood, I liked Gangrel more. I'd like to see Shelton Benjamin learn to remember lines and get a push or even Carlito. Edge is good in the ring, done some great stuff, don't know why I'm not much of a fan.

The STE 10-02-2006 10:11 PM

the Matt Hardy thing was the only time I didn't like Edge, and since Matt singed on with WWE and made an angle out of it, I stopped caring. Now I like Edge again

The STE 10-02-2006 10:12 PM

btw, ECW is 3rd of October, unless you're going to a house show

hitman3005 10-03-2006 09:09 PM

Damn WWE! Had tonight's ECW recorded for me and they show the Topeka Ks show instead of the Wichita show! I was in row "A" right where the ECW wrestlers walk out. BASTARDS! I'll post pix tomorrow when i get them developed. Mostly got ECW stars, but a few Smackdown guys. First match of the night was a dark match between Gymini & Kendrick + London. Gymini grabbed my beer off of the railing and moved it 5ft down the aisle, funny as hell. Then after the match London walked by and picked up my beer and acted liked he was gonna drink it. PERFECT SEATS! When Joey and Taz came out Joey reached for my beer like he was gonna drink it then smiled and walked off, i was marking out by now! olo Oh well, still had a great time!

Sorry, still a lil buzzed :P

I'll be back with pix tomorrow!

STE: Sorry I put the 4th. I meant the 3rd. Wonder why they showed the Topeka shiw? I read on the WWE website that ECW was added to Topeka Monday night. Damn them! Oh well, at least i may show up on SMACKDOWN!
