I didnt think Poltergiest was that great, but far from Worst Movie Ever. It was a bit boring, but that's about all that was wrong with it IMO.

VampiricClown 11-06-2005 08:31 AM

I thought the second Poltergeist was alright. The first was the best by far.

I havnt bothered to see the sequels.

stubbornforgey 11-06-2005 10:05 AM

em sorry but ..john carpenters vampires
bored the shit out of me

Jacob Singer 11-06-2005 10:42 AM

Yea, Vampires & Ghosts of Marsh are the worst movies from Carpenter... but not the worst movies ever (they look like clasics compared with things like Faust, Dagon, Poltergeist II & III etc)

VampiricClown 11-06-2005 01:21 PM

I have John Carpenter's Vampires. I haven't watched it yet though, same for Dagon.

Xymphony 11-06-2005 02:47 PM

Dagon? Among worst movies EVER? No way i can understand this

I know, I know. I didn't buy it though. It came on Sci-Fi and I taped it. So luckily I'm not out any money.

Jacob Singer 11-11-2005 02:00 AM

Off course we have this argument before.....anyway thats my opinion, you could love that .....film, Idont wanna fight again for the same movie:cool:

Lorre 11-11-2005 11:45 AM

One of the absolute worst movies I have ever seen would be Side FX. Has anyone seen this? My aunt bought it for me because she knows that I love horror movies. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it sucks major ass.

Despare 11-11-2005 02:12 PM

The worst movie hasn't been released yet. I was just reading the cast list for it though... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460780/.

Not a bad cast but the best actors in the world couldn't save this project. When Tarentino did Kill Bill in two volumes people were skeptical but it turned out ok because it was Tarentino... Uwe Boll shouldn't be allowed to even try.

I would say of the current movies though Island of the Dead was MUCH worse than House of the Dead. Flies!? C'mon!!!

The Mothman 11-11-2005 02:21 PM

house of 1000corpses was fucking terrible. worse than hotd.

knife_fight 11-11-2005 02:31 PM

out of the horror movies I've watched in the past two weeks or so, I'd have to say that Boogeyman was the worst.

but I also gotta say that I was a bit disappointed by High Tension as well. not saying it was a bad movie though (so don't get pissed if you loved it).

Boogeyman was pretty bad. I was hoping for a good scare, but instead just got a good case of being bored. It was almost as "un-scary" as darkness falls.

The_Return 11-12-2005 02:03 PM

Personally, I thought House of the Dead was alot better than Boogeyman. Both are awful movies though...

Despare- I agree that movie has a great cast. Too bad that POS will have to go on their resumes....

Which "House Of The Dead" movie are you referring to? The 2003 release or the 1978 release?

scottingraham 11-12-2005 03:36 PM

Id have to say The Grudge personally! It was just so slow and I never could get into it! Boogeyman was also pretty bad and very boring!

2003

VampiricClown 11-12-2005 03:56 PM

Now I'm curious to see it, but I'm not sure if I should spend the money. haha

filmmaker2 11-12-2005 04:24 PM

Razorteeth
Frankenfish

Both whacky mutant killer fish movies, but insufferably lame

Despare 11-12-2005 08:41 PM

You know, I like a lot of movies, even a bunch on this list. I liked Resident Evil, John Carpenter's Vampires, House of 1,000 Corpses and plenty more but Undead was garbage. I'd put Undead just above House of the Dead because there were a couple ok scenes but I realllly disliked that movie.

filmmaker2 11-13-2005 07:15 AM

I liked Resident Evil just fine, thought it was a lot of fun. A lot of people I know thought it was crap, but I didn't agree.

I own House of the Dead and enjoy it; I don't think it's a good movie but it's good stupid-time entertainment.

I need to see the Unrated Land of the Dead. Hopefully I'll like it better than what I saw in the theatre--was disappointed. I've been watching Romero's movies since a long time ago, and I get picky.

PR3SSUR3 11-15-2005 07:19 AM

I agree Vampires and Resident Evil were both perfectly acceptable horror/action movies.

I think we should draw distinctions between bad "real" movies (i.e. those with a budget and semi-professional crew) and bad "throwaway" efforts (such as anything with "Cheerleader", "Tomato" or "Killer" in the title).

Jesus, people actually saw it in the theater? When I saw the movie I thought I was watching someone play a bad made video game.

With the name "Frankenfish", what do you expect? I mean come on, even the name of the movie is lame.

It could've been a great movie had Spielbooger given Tobe Hooper total control of directing it instead of stepping in every time Hooper's direction got just a tad too creepy for him. Poltergiest 2 was kinda lame, although Carol Anne's rotting face and wailing moan as she was withering away was kinda cool. :)

The Mothman 11-19-2005 06:30 AM

any of nathan schiff's no-budget trilogy. they are so bad that you gotta love them

I can't relate to half of these. I just got into the whole horror thing about 4 months ago. I always watched the b/w movies though. I need to do some more homework sounds like.

isn't sad that we can name far more bad horror films than good.

Ya. But like bwind said those sorts of movies had low budgets, so to expect a lot from them is a but much..

But wendigo gets my vote for the worse movie i have ever seen.

28 days later, FUCK, that was the shittest flik ive EVER seen...

gorefreak 11-22-2005 05:14 AM

"28 Days Later" could've been a little faster paced, but I didn't think it was that bad. Let's face it, there are much worse movies out there.

what? i thought that was one of the best zombie-ish films to come out in years. beat the shit out of that resident evil crap.

plus, it had a badass in it. a badass who fucks poeple up. movies that have that are always good. that dude at the end was fucking EVERYBODY up. pretty nasty eye gouging scene in there too.

I guess you haven't seen very many movies, eh? Anyway, I'd just like to add Hellraiser: Deader to the list. If you're interested, you can read my comments on it in the "Last seen movie" thread, which I won't repeat here for fear of being boring.

I'm with you on this, i keep trying to think of what was really the worst horror movie, guess which comes to mind??? Frankenfish:D

evildeadfreak 11-23-2005 01:56 PM

Miximum over drive is the overall worst i can think of. I thought Return of the dead 3 was also pretty bad but not the worst.

eastsidemotel6 12-01-2005 01:52 AM

I actually liked the movie "Mausoleum." I haven't seen HOTD, but is it really as bad as Bloody Murderer or Camp Blood? Both of these had sequels as well that were just as bad.

PR3SSUR3 12-01-2005 03:43 AM

Zoltan: Hound of Dracula & Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things? Both classics and no mistake!

Return of the Living Dead 3... are you on drugs? Which parts are you not getting - the tragic central romance, the fantastically inventive gore, the great sets, the unusual downbeat ending?
