Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4: The Next Generation
Phantasm (All of them. Fuck that series!)
House of the Dead (Worst. Movie. Ever.)
Hood of the Living Dead (Yes! It's as bad as it sounds!)
Battlefield: Earth (Yes! It's as bad as you've heard!)

I'm just curious, but what did you hate about Phantasm? It seems like a well-regarded series, and I've never really come across anyone that flat out disliked it.

Aside from that, I'm glad I'm not the only one that didn't like Undead. It did not live up to my expectations at all.

BH14 10-20-2005 11:05 AM

Thanks for the Warning for "Undead".... I saw the coming attraction and thought it looked good. Then, I saw the box cover and it looked real cool with the gas mask and shotgun but I remember everyone bashing it so i never rented it. Saved me $4 bucks and 2 hours of my life.

Gelflingboy 10-20-2005 02:22 PM

Anyone thinks the TCM remake is hundred times better than "Next Generation"?

I suppose no one has ever seen " Zombie Lake"! God-awful French-Spanish zombie movie guaranteed to make you wanna kill yourself, it's soooooooooo bad that it makes "House of the Dead" look good and this one is even worse than that movie, heck even "Zombi 3" is god-awful.

AmericanManiac 10-20-2005 02:37 PM

Walt Disney films :p

goregurl 10-21-2005 03:18 PM

i have to disagree with whomever said phantasm, cuz thats a great flick, the sequels, i'm not so sure about..

now i'm going to get blasted hardcore for this one and while it is a great film and full of artistic merit, i found the exorcist to be the most boring movie i have ever seen. i'm not saying its a bad movie, cuz its not, i just wasn't into it. *hides under a table*

Just kidding.

But not really.

I thought the same till I saw it on the big screen. And yeh Phantasm is rad..... I dig the sequels although they are totally confusing in parts. Probably one of the most imaginative horror films ever.

I havnt seen Next Generation yet, but there is no way in hell it's worse than the pile of shit that was the remake. I saw an overlong trailer for it, doesnt really look THAT bad, IMO.

..its much worse than the remake

immortalem 10-23-2005 01:35 PM

Some movies to avoid are:

Darkness
Darkness Falls
Ghost Ship
Boogeyman
Hide and Seek

gorefreak 10-24-2005 07:37 PM

Yeah, I just saw "Darkness". God was that boring. Seemed to have a few good creepy ideas, but it just didn't follow through enough.

"Darkness Falls" is okay. Could've been much better as an "R" rated film with some gore and better special effects. The original "Ghostship" was much better than the remake. The remake was too sanitized, although the cable slashing scene was cool, but the rest of the movie is okay at best. Kinda boring, but at least it was decent, but too sanitized. I hate when they sanitize horror films.

bwind22 10-25-2005 12:28 AM

Phantasm sucks!

Stupid villain (The Tall Man... ooooo), really stupid hero(s) (Reggie is a tard!), the plot is lame, the gore is basic and minimal, and the sequels all sucked too. Why do people like this movie again?

gorefreak 10-25-2005 05:12 AM

Maybe we're just more easily entertained than others. ;)

Personally, I thought the Matrix sequels were pretty good. Definatly a downward slope, and definatly not nearly as good as part 1....but I enjoyed all 3.

wha? slasher's don't need a plot line. :p The third sleepaway camp is not as good as 1 or 2, but I wouldn't say it's avoid-worthy if you're into the occasional mindless slasher.

Redneck Zombies was also a little too much for me. I couldn't get halfway through it. :o

Secret Window. Lazy with a capital L. Oh, I forgot to mention Premonition before.

yeah but in SC3 you don't see anything really when people get killed..it's not even worthy of the R rating, except for the language. it's hard for me to define it as a slasher flick when you don't get to see the slashing, ya know? i think that SC2 has the best death scenes out of the three and SC4 looked like it was going to be okay, shame the studio lost intrest in it.

For sure, Angela is a pretty creative murderer in the second one. :D

I see what you're saying though. With the exception of the lawnmower kill, there wasn't much going on. I guess I liked it for the humor side. (and snowball's horrible dialogue...)

The Mothman 10-25-2005 05:23 PM

k i got a new one. Day Of The Dead 2: Contagium

sooooo booooooooooring.

gorefreak 10-25-2005 07:03 PM

Nah, you wanna BORING movies? How about "Return Of The Zombies" or "The Day It Came To Earth", "American Nightmare" for starters? All those put me to sleep. I should buy a copy of "Return Of The Zombies" when there's a night I can't sleep at all. :)

The first time I picked up "Dawn of the Dead" (yes, the classic DOTD) I put it back on the shelf because it didn't look good. Now it's one of the few DVDS I own. :o

Sleepaway Camp III is no Dawn of the Dead, but I think it's worth renting.

Undead
Brothers Grimm (full feature)
Skeleton Key
Texas Chainsaw Massacre -remake

I just watched The Fog -remake last night...words can't describe it.

The Mothman 10-26-2005 04:46 AM

ok. Land Of The Dead.

handsome rob 10-26-2005 05:17 AM

Allow me to add Dark Heaven to the list. What a BOMB that thing was.

gorefreak 10-26-2005 07:21 PM

Bog Creatures.... it's a real strain on the heart to watch that ungodly awful movie.

MiskatonicKitty 10-27-2005 04:32 AM

House Of The Dead: Did anyone actually enjoy this? Oh my god.

Cheerleader Massacre: I was hoping for exploitational gore-n-sex goodness, what I got was almost nonexistent gore and rather boring nudity. Disturbingly predictible to. I pinned the killer in the first few minutes. :-\

Wendigo: Boring. Boring. Boring.

Massacre: Actually, it was so-and-so's Massacre, but I don't remember the guy's name. Oh. My. God. One of the few movies I actually couldn't finish watching.

gorefreak 10-27-2005 04:56 AM

Dammit! I was gonna do a quick look in a site, but this friggin "call wave" ad prevents me from putting anything into the search querry as if it wants me to do nothing but click on the ad. People that place ads like that oughta be banned from the internet.

Haven't seen the other's, but I'll bump that Wendigo. Hard to make a movie scary when the "scary thing" has a name that you can't say without chuckling. Wendigo. OOOOoooohhh. lol
