I just have to say that your mom is awesome! My mom thinks I have problems now for being so much into horror, and I'm 27! :)

Paint your wall or walls black. Get some 1/2-1/4 inch masking tape and mask off a random stone pattern. Depending on how big your room is and your budget get a 5 gallon bucket or more of drywall compund and a gallon of black or the darkest grey paint you can find, (the cheaper the better) mix this really good, don't be afraid of how dark it is it will dry lighter. Coat your wall with a good heavy coat of this, use your hands to apply it not a trowl or any tools. While it is still wet, (work in small sections as you go so it doesn't get too dry) peel off the tape to reveal the black lines. let it dry really good, it will crack, but thats good makes it look even more real. Then dry brush it with lighter shades of grey and black to make it look lke real stone, (don't over do it...less is more) This stuff is called Monster Mud and we use it for everything in haunts. You can even use some flouresent paint to highlight some of the stones around the edges, (don't paint over the black lines completly, add a black light or two and admire your work, (use the blacklight while you work to help you with your pattern. You could draw in a fake window and have a castle scence or anything else you like.

You can also make stone walls using sheets of builders foam, and it looks great, but thats time consuming and a lot more costly.

Anyway...When I was a teenager, I went with the 'Pits Of Hell' look...

Imagine this...

Black Walls...Dark red paint streaming down the walls all the way from the top, to about the middle...Blood Red carpet...Mirrors on the ceiling...When you walk into the room, it looks like blood running down black walls, and when you look up at the ceiling, it looks like fire rising into a black, night sky...Set it off with a red lightbulb, to keep it dark and give it a warm, firey glow...and of course...tons of posters...Remember the really big AC/DC black velvet "Highway To Hell" poster?...I had that one, along with MANY demon posters...There were also a massive amount of chains, big metal hooks, a HUGE black, rope web, and a noose hanging from my ceiling, and along my walls...I REALLY wanted a black coffin with red silk lining, instead of my bed, but alas, no money:(

......My mother would NOT come into my room...She said it looked like Hell in there...That was how I knew that I had captured the look and feel that I was going for...lol...Had lots of candles and incense, too...you'll need those for YOUR setup, as well:cool:

I LOVE decorating:)

let me just say that that is just fucking awesome...but ironicly...my mom doesn't want my walls black:confused: ..so i'm gonna be dealing with the grey....i might get a coffin cd rack(on a different thread i've made) for my CD's, and i also already have a 48' In blacklight and an 18' In. blacklight...on my cealing i have handprints that you could only see with the blacklight and it goes along the whole cealing...i'm deciding whether to get rid or to keep that though i've also got a standing incent burner...but i may throw that 1 out and find a better 1 bc its a hippie 1:D ...and i've got a skeleton-coffin type laying down incent burner...and 3 incent burners i've made myself out of old coke bottles, and now the only thing i def. can't do is put mirror's on my wall, for 2 reasons...1) when i woke up i'd shit myself bc i'd think i was having an "out of body" experience...and 2) with my luck the mirror would fall on my during the night:rolleyes:

BUMP....

well my rooms pretty much done...got a lot of stuff for my room from sites like www.frightcatalog.com in their props section...walls are a semi-glossy gray got candles galore...although something i didn't realize which is kinda funny....i have 3 wall sconces, 2 beside my bed and 1 directly above it but a lil lower....but it was my and my girlfriends anniversary so for the "Romantic" effect, i lit the candles and put a dozen silk black roses on the bed....but the 2 scones on the side of the bed kinda almost lit my cealing on fire.....it was funny as hell but coulda been baddddddddddd.....but otherwise my room came out pretty good, i still have one wall that theres nothing there, but i'm probally gonna put an alter together and stick my excess candles on it....g'day!:D
