The Thing From Another Planet, from 1951, may have been the first Horror movie I ever saw, and it's been a favorite ever since. I sometimes use it in the same way I would music. I'll put it on as background atmosphere while I do chores or write or whatever. Definitely a comfort movie for me.
I love Carpenters version but it's a little too intense and dynamic to really help me chill. I get too into it!
