Please, in the future, do not post requests for pirated software here. It is possible for either the RIAA, MPAA or BSA (business software alliance) to take the owner of the forum to court and have the forum shut down. Please, please don't make it happen cap'n.

What you are saying is correct (about forums getting shut down for pirating), but I don't think that what Jay said was a 'request for pirated software.' He merely asked if anyone knew where he could get a certain program for free. Maybe he was asking for a program that he thought was free, but simply couldn't find. For example...

"Does anyone know where I can get Ad-Aware 6.0 for free?"

It's just a question.

It's not a request for pirated material because there are actually websites that you can get it free. Downloads.com will give you a free version of Ad-Aware 6.0 along with any updates that come along. I don't think Jay (or this forum) could get into any trouble for what he said.

I know it's (Ad Aware) free. But who's to say that Jay didn't think Photosuite was free too?

That's exactly my point. He didn't directly ask someone to pirate anything for him. In fact, he didn't even mention pirating, he only asked a question.

And as far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with that.
