I'll admit to having done this about little things, but if it was my bfs dream to go to space I would legitimately want him to go even if i was in the hospital.

Even if your partner says "go ahead" or "that's okay", it's a lie. We are hoping you will decide on your own not to go, and if you don't, there will be hell to pay at a later date.http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...iffords05.html

Because, she's in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound to the head and even if she wasn't she's not an astronaut.

I realize the circumstances are very unusual, and it must have been a tough call for him, but the moment I saw the problem unfolding, I could imagine the thought processes on both their parts and thought; If he goes, and she really would rather he hadn't and decides she's mad at him for being selfish, his defense will be "But she told me I could go".

This is now the "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" thread.:D

Bah! Most people go outside "to get some air" after a terrible thing happens. The vacuum of space doesn't seem the best place to get air now, does it?

I expect I would too, it being the final mission of the shuttle and all, but I wouldn't know until I was in her shoes.
