We've lost several pets over the years. Never gets easier. Please accept my condolences.

Sorry to hear that. Death of a pet can be extremely difficult. Hope you can remember him well. RIP.

Thanks for the kind words folks, it's alright and I kind of knew it was a likelihood after the stroke...the rat and I were not that close, though I will miss having him around to the extent that we did interact.
But yeah, all is well.
