Without someone to take care of them, domesticated dogs turn feral in order to survive. That's just the way it is. If there are other feral dogs around, they join up in packs (those that aren't killed by the pack, anyway). That's when they become dangerous, because they will hunt (and breed) in a pack.

Yes, there are more humane ways of euthanizing animals. But not everyone has access to, or can afford, a vet, which is why not every pet is sterilized. Bullets cost money; poison costs money. Neither bullets nor money are always easy to obtain. And honestly, if someone had posted a video of of pups being shot or poisoned, people would be just as outraged.
I agree, it's hard to watch. I don't think I could do it. But if I had to, I wouldn't video tape it, then post the video on the internet. That's the disgusting part, not euthanizing pups.
