LOL, well ill agree that he can be an instigator, is can Sam the Egg (especially to new members), and Rotting eye, but there is a difference in doing it sparatically, or even continuously to new members who post shit in the wrong forum, and doing it in EVERY post the user makes.

If people seriosly had a problem with sam the egg, or Gore, or anyother member i would expect to be notified on it. But people dont, as all those members do actually have relevant and NONinsulting posts, they just arent often in the new members section:p

I say, continue the banning. This forum, like my own and all others, is privately owned. the rules of conduct are set by the owners, and those given the responsibility of moderating have the right to make whatever decision they deem appropriate.

Freedom of speech isnt protected. If the rules forbid certain conduct, then it is forbidden. Everyone digitally "signs" and agreement before joining a forum, and by doing so, state that they will obey the rules, or accept whatever consequences are spelled out in those rules.

Basically, this forum isnt run by the governement, so if the owner doesnt want people using the word "papaya" because it offends them, then they can ban you for using it, and they dont have to answer to anyone.

That's just stupid. I AM a kid and I wouldn't do that:rolleyes:

jay o2 waster 04-19-2004 09:39 AM

you don't have to ban anybody, you can just click ignor that member

Arioch 04-19-2004 12:50 PM

Like cheeba has stated in the other thread. It shouldn't be a matter of everyone one the board putting trouble making posters on ignore. That completely invalidates the role of modding and banning people in general. It also deters new, possible GOOD posters from the site when its all cluttered up with nothing but obviously instigatory and purposely offensive remarks...

There has to be some regulation. If everyone has to put a troublesome troll on their ignore list, im not doing my job now am I....

Internet Protocol, the address your internet provider assigns to your computer so you can contact other computers and they can contact you, via the internet. It also stays the same through multiple screen names, thus, we mods can tell who has more than one.;)

Thanks. I got it from Lucy Liu's line in Kill Bill. An ALRIGHT movie, but I dont think it quite lived up to the hype it's recieved.
