is halloween 1 really a slasher? It's my favourite horror of all time but can it be called a slasher considering the only blood shown is on lauries arm when it gets scraped?

Personally, Ive always thought of Halloween as the father of slasher movies.

Kinda like how alot of people consider Led Zepplin the fathers of heavy metal even though they didnt play it, they inspired 99% of the later bands that did.

he has you on a technicality there ferret. dunno if this counts but, 90% of argento's body of work. here's a good question, what's the difference between slasher and giallo? that might make a good thread.
