I come across that album every now and then in the cheap bins when digging for vinyl. I should really pick it up sometime just for the cover.

That Big Brother & The Holding Company cover is solid. I'd love to find that one day I seem to see it less and less these days.

Freak Out was one of the first 3 albums I bought when I made this concious decision to buy some music that reflected my own budding taste in music. Iasked my mother to take me to the music store and let me buy some records with the allowance I had saved. Freak Out was my last choice of the day. All Iknew about the album was that the picture was kind of freaky, and on the back it said something about the leader of the band sometimes coming the the band's shows and sometimes he didn't, which I thought was pretty funny. This decision affected me for the rest of my life.
