Modern United States
British Revolutionary War re-enactors observe Guy Fawkes Night on the first Saturday night in November, during the Revolutionary Field Days at various locations including Camden, South Carolina. The night has been celebrated for the past 11 years in the community of Westerly in the state of Rhode Island, U.S.A. I never knew this, thanks for the education, V!!! |
Wait.....today's the 6th
|
Totally missed this thread. It was a good day. Went to an event the town was holding. They tend to have these large events to discourage people setting bonfires and fireworks off at their houses. Less complications that way.

true hero...
people brainwashed with "loyal" feelings, well, they can't understand heroes like him... they'll keep obeying their queens, kings, presidents who "rule" them |
|
bonfires and a tale about Guy Fawkes, with the ending: 'and that was a TRUE STORY!' oooooo:eek:
...I am sure to retain my genius fun mom status with that:o Happy V DAY:) |
The whole of India celebrates Guy Fawkes Day today, because by some very queer yet pleasant coincidence, it is Diwali day here today.
8:35 PM right now, on our Diwali night, and I can hear the continuous bursts and thundering of firecrackers everywhere in the city. Right now, I am waiting for the puja in my home to end before I head out with my firecrackers. Happy Guy Fawkes Day, all of you. Hope you will have as much fun as I am going to, in a bit. |
Well i know what movie ill be watching tonight. Dont think enough people around me know about the story of Mr. Fawkes for me to go around lighting off fireworks.....but I still might.
